On my machine with the same CPU I can't even run a single instance of Repro-5 with reasonable latency without regular xrun crackles.mevla wrote:As a follow-up on Linux use, here with Linux Mint 18 and Bitwig 2.2.2 there are no graphic wise shortcomings that I noticed so far. [...]
Currently a session has 7 Repro-5 instances and 2 Repro-1 instances, all playing at the same time, plus two audio clip tracks, and it runs pretty well. i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz with 16GB RAM.
So, what are your JACK settings? Are you using JACK 1 or JACK 2? What kind of audio interface are you using? RT or regular kernel?
And for the developers: Do you think at least a single instance of Repro-5 might or maybe even should be possible on a i5-3570 @ 3.40GHz? Or would that be rather surprising?
Note: No complaint on CPU hunger intended. I bought Repro-1 not Repro-5. So I'm still perfectly happy even if I cannot run Repro-5 on any of my current machines
