So, I’ve been trying to find (essentially) a project case of the same size as the Linnstrument 128 (just the metal box.)

My idea is to remove one of the wooden rails, bolt it to the long edge of the Linny, then integrate an M8 (headless) tracker using Raspberry pi as a host, and integrate an iPad mini, an audio interface, and sliders, knobs, whatever midi widgets I can fit onto the rest of the real estate, and basically turn it into an all in one instrument.

Basically, I want to fiddle with crap.. but does anyone know of a place I can find a metal project box of the same dimensions as the Linny 128? I’m having difficulty finding a metal project box of similar dimensions…

I'm afraid you'll never find a metal box that's the same size. I've attached the sheet metal drawings and 3D file for the L128 chassis. You might be able to get a sheet metal shop to make it.

That said, it won't be easy. I think you're better off simply buying an existing device that does what you want and is about the right size and placing it in front/back of the L128.

This is rad! Nice work :) I built something different to fix the same problem, although much less ambitious. Just posted it in the forums! viewtopic.php?t=589562
