Thanks!
I have a good number of these kits already (most from last year's IP group buy). It would be good to see some fan loyalty here Squids

Poopy pants? lol
Anyway, (post Gumbo post), I'm back. I guess one Squids mega post too much for them. We'll see what happens. In any case, I've always said it is better for all of you to post in other forums than me. When you post as yourself from a company you're like an open target. That's why the group buy thing works when it is you, not me and my employees. Ironically none of them post on the forums except Allen once in a while in our own SR forum here - and even then not so much! I'm the only one still around at midnight working. Although I want to make sure I am here for this group buy because this IS a big one and I really know how tight this window is that we can offer it. My goal is to make it a good a deal as possible and to help you with the group buy action as much as possible but I have limitations from my vantage point. It's more in your hands to spread the word. The most I can do on other forums is answer questions - and even that takes time which IS not unlimited so... I'll do my best.

We have this information on the product page which tells you about as much as we can. I didn't actually do the Ocean Way drum sessions - I just gave them the instructions on how to do it the way we program it. But a few kits have the info in the sample NKX revealed so that is expanded on here in the sound descriptions. Hope this helps:pcaseiro wrote:The kits you get in the Ultimate Studio Drums Group Buy are this:

Squids is there a way to know for each OWD kit what instruments have been used?
OWD Kit 1 Dry
A dry mix of Ocean Way® Drums Kit 1 which is a solid kit versatile for many styles. It's based around a DW® set and like other Ocean Way Drum Kits it was recorded in the legendary Studio B at Ocean Way Recording in Los Angeles.
OWD Kit 2 Medium
A medium dry to ambient mix of Ocean Way® Drum Kit 2 which features a HUGE sounding kick and a snare that pops! Great for Hip Hop to R&B to Pop.
OWD Kit 4 Dry
A dry mix of Ocean Way® Drums Kit 4 with a very tight direct sound. In this bundle it is a great complement to the ambient mix (also included) so you can get an idea of what the full Ocean Way® Drums titles that feature 3 mixes (DL) or 6 preset mixes (Silver, Gold, Platinum) per drum kit are like.
OWD Kit 4 Ambient
As a contrast to the dry mix, this ambient mix of Ocean Way® Drum Kit 4 has the larger than life sound of Studio B which makes it massive and powerful. This features thwacky toms with good tone and very natural overtones on the snare drum.
OWD Kit 5 Medium
A great all around rock and pop kit based on a rare Premier® set. It is a medium dry to ambient mix of Ocean Way® Drum Kit 5.
OWD Kit 6 Ambient
Here's another HUGE drum kit that takes advantage of the ambient room sound of Ocean Way® Drums. It is an ambient mix of Ocean Way® Drum Kit 6.
OWD Kit 8 Dry
A crystal clear upfront sounding drum kit, this is a dry mix of Ocean Way® Drum Kit 8.
OWD Kit 9 Dry
A flexible direct sounding mix of Ocean Way® Drum Kit 9 which features a Ludwig® set.
OWD Kit 10 Dry
One of many people's favorite Ocean Way® Drum Kits is Kit 10. To complement the limited-time free Ocean Way® Drum Kit 10 medium mix, in this bundle we offer both the dry and ambient mixes as well. All together you get an example of the three dry, medium and ambient mixes per kit that you get in a product such as Ocean Way® Drums DL Edition.
OWD Kit 10 Ambient
This show the difference in sound between dry, medium and ambient mixes. A much larger drum sound featuring a blend of room mics in Studio B. This is an ambient mix of Ocean Way® Drums Kit 10.
OWD Kit 12 Dry
A flexible direct mix featuring a Gretsch® drum kit, this is a dry mix of Ocean Way® Drum kit 12. A very modern-retro sound with meaty toms.
OWD Kit 13 Medium
A very solid kit with a great blend of dry and ambient mics, this is a medium mix of Ocean Way® Drum Kit 13.
From the Drum Masters 2 Signature Drum Kit Series:
Drum Masters 2 NDV ST Gretsch® Kit
Recorded during the Nick D'Virgilio Drum Masters sessions, this sampled Gretsch® kit provided by Ross Garfield and Drum Doctors was designed to get a progressive rock "Bruford meets Collins" sound.
Drum Masters 2 NDV ST Premier® Kit (Dry)

Drum Masters 2 NDV ST Premier® Kit (Ambient)
Recorded during the Nick D'Virgilio Drum Masters sessions this is a full ambient mix for a more upfront direct sound of a mega power drum kit for progressive rock. It features the room sound of Mower Studios which was designed by Kevin Gilbert (Toy Matinee, Thud) to be modeled after the Townhouse Studio in London where Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins and many other artists got large stone room drum sounds.
Drum Masters 2 Collins Kit
This is a Mower Studio recorded kit based on the Gretsch with a fat snare tailored in the style of Phil Collins.
Drum Masters 2 Duke Kit
This is a Mower Studio recorded kit based on the Premier with a deep snare tailored in the style of Phil Collins.

Recorded in Nashville with Nick D'Virgilio, this is a Mapex® drum kit played with Blasticks (Aka Hot Rods™) for a very earthy pop/folksy sound.
Drum Masters 2 JB Tama® Brush Kit
Recorded in Miami during the John Blackwell Drum Masters sessions this is a Tama® Star Classic Kit played with brushes for a jazz/pop sound.
Drum Masters 2 JB Session Sonor® Kit
An all around great sounding rock and pop kit recorded in Miami. A punchy medium ambient Sonor® kit with a modern acoustic sound.
Drum Masters 2 JB Sensitone Kit
A new kit featuring Pearl® Sensitone Snare with a medium ambient room sound.

Jonutarr, you are among some of the really cool people I've met over there. That's the conflicting part about it. I really like a lot of the people I was interacting with and I thought that thread was going great! The funny thing is I only copy/paste posted it there to keep people informed when it was relevant. All someone had to do was specifically say "hey don't do THAT" and I would have gladly stopped but oddly enough no one said anything until after it was closed. Oh well.
Vdrums.com IMO has the potential to be a great forum for that specific area of interest and many of the people there are really friendly and fun to talk to. In order for that site reach its potential I think impartiality is key and there should be a good way to handle delicate inter-company politics regarding posting.
Anyway, I think maybe the thread is going to be re-opened one last time. I'll hav to stick to just answering people's questions and not get TOO excited as I tend to... I admit I am a hype machine but to me that is part of the fun. To get people amped on all this stuff. But I'll have to chill a bit over there or it could ruin it for others who really DO want to discuss it there amongst the members... and that could mean more people joining which means more drum sounds and other extras for everybody not to mention it still does have a bit to go to reach the lowest price. It's not there yet!

You guys are funny. It's been dramatic! The threads are now open again! But I'll have to just be careful because the hype is just a natural thing for me even though you can tell I am genuinely excited about this stuff. I'm not a salesman full of hot air. I've got stories! We've been on a mission to capture some seriously cool drum sounds and it is fun to talk about. Anyway... we'll find a way to make it all work for most people's benefit who are interested in this.

GeorgeZ,
If you could explain what problem you ran into and the steps you took, then I'm sure someone here can help.
It would be a shame to pass this by.

Squids, thank you very much for these.Squids wrote:Okay, so I think everyone would agree that Bronxsound, Reverend Rhythm, DarkStar and Chester Desmond are going beyond the call of duty here for everyone's benefit. I am sure (in fact I know) it is earning them ePointz from referrals but we kicked in a little extra from us to show our gratitude. A little membership bump and ePointz gift from eSoundz to you. Keep up the great work! It really makes these group buys soar.
Of course, now I've got a new problem - just what do I spend them on? Too much choice
