I too think this is a good idea, maybe a small display which shows the value of the chosen knob...and add a popup oscilloscope/spectrogram for sheer visual pleasure--I like watching sounds!
You want too much for a freebie :D

I think those values from 0 to 1 wont be helpful. You can set knobs very precise by using alt key 8)

You can use this: http://jaggedplanet.com/VST/jscope.html It's really great. Better than all I've ever seen in any plugin. :D Or this one: http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=4 It's nice also.

Hey, I'm not demanding anything. It was just a suggestion. But if you change the range from 0-1 to 00-99, that would make a lot of sense. It's not a matter of being precise, it's a matter of instantaneously put the value where you know you want it, instead of always dragging the mouse over and over. But, as I say, I'll take whatever is given

Sound-wise, you have already exceeded my expectations. After all, we are talking about the greatest "Freebie" ever! Needs a GUI to match, doesn't it?

:)

Thanks for the scope recommendations. (Maybe Bram at smartelectonix would let you integrate them?)

Pointless IMO , because synth is synth and scope is scope :D Better to do something very well than all for a little bit. For this reason i wont integrate a single effect in obxd.
Doing high quilaty effects will take insane amount of time and i dont think they will be better than existing ones.

I can understand that...in any case, I am eagerly waiting to see what you come up with.

nope! this is exactly what i was asking for! i like the simple juce controls!

thanks 2Dat!!!!

one thing i noticed, the master tuning appears to be off.
not sure if its something with EXT2, but putting G-tune on the output and pressing a A4 key gives a tuning of 445~449hz for each of the 8 voices instead of 440hz

anyone else seeing this?

Brilliantly noticed, Layzer. I tested it myself and all the notes give me +3 to +4 cents tuning, too. Do we need "Master Tuning" next 2DaT? ;)

still sounds average to me, it just has a generic soft synth sound to my ears, sorry I don't mean to be harsh but I wanted to like this but I'm afraid I'll pass on this and stick with OPX Pro II which is capable of much more than emulating the OBX

yeah, well... this synth isn't sweetened with internal effects. and the dry output of the oscillators sound good to me. i'll pass on synthedit and keep following development of this OBX emu :P
