Great piece and playing! The VG Trumpet sounds great. The fact that it is configured for EWI makes it a great match for LinnStrument. I have a set of EWI patches for Reason, the iOS Moog Model D, and Arturia SEM and they work very well once you set the pressure control to CC 2.

Thanks Jeremy! I agree, it gets along well with the Linnstrument. It would make it easier to have a pitch bend on the gui without having to look under the kontakt hood. Also, on the vst I am using in this video I haven't been able to save settings I make on the gui when I close the session and even if I save a new instrument it doesn't work, at least that's been my experience. I have another one, the "jazz trumpet" that doesn't have the latter issue. So those are a couple little irritatants.

But that said, I think the sound is quite good and the price is fair. Frankly, as much as I wanted to, I just couldn't pull the trigger on the audio modeling brass stuff because of household belt tightening. If Vlad (the developer) was interested I think he could make some small changes and have a very attractive and affordable set of instruments for linnstrument/seaboard players who are interested in playing virtual trumpets, saxes, etc.

One other note, they work very well with the TEC breath controller as well which, combined with the linnstrument, provides a bit more real time expression options, but in this video I didn't use it to show how good it sounds just with the Linnstrument,

"Transfer of Energy" was recorded entirely on Linnstrument. The violin is Friktion, synth is a multi from Arturia's Analog Lab, the bass is from AAS String Studio V3, and the drums are from IK Multimedia's MODO Drum.

Another good one, Jeremy. Funny— one of the things I normally miss about overdubbed music is the spontaneous interaction of the players, but I don’t miss it here. Given that you’re playing all the parts, each player is effectively interacting with the other players and knows what they’re all playing next. The result to my ears is a believable live ensemble.

Thanks, Roger! For this song, I started with the bass followed by the drums so the rhythm section was in place by the time I added the melodic parts.

And the band members all seem to like each other. :)

;-) Well, everyone seems to have an issue with the drummer...

(The video before this one on my channel also has a Linnstrument solo, but you can’t really see me playing it.)

“Frame of Reference” features the main themes played on Linnstrument controlling Hydrasynth. The lead synth is from Omnisphere, sax and viola from Audio Modeling with piano, real fretless tapping bass, and Zendrum (MODO Drums) rounding out the rest of the instruments.
