License
The core JUCE modules (juce_audio_basics, juce_audio_devices, juce_blocks_basics, juce_core and juce_events) are permissively licensed under the terms of the ISC license. Other modules are covered by a GPL/Commercial license.
There are multiple commercial licensing tiers for JUCE, with different terms for each:
JUCE Personal (developers or startup businesses with revenue under 50K USD) - free
JUCE Indie (small businesses with revenue under 500K USD) - $40/month
JUCE Pro (no revenue limit) - $130/month
JUCE Educational (no revenue limit) - free for bona fide educational institutes

Yep, in the short term it's a bunch of overheads we can't easily add in. The products in dev are already using internal bodges, sorry, frameworks, and the costs to convert get prohibitive after a while..
Still toys still get finished and at some point you'll find out if there was something to the central tenet of this thread..!

Not at all. I'm just saying that, without JUCE (as some developers are doing, I think Gforce as well), it would even be a lot more work.
Basically, my point is that the guy was plain wrong in slagging off developers for not working fast enough. If that's your opinion as a customer, I would always recommend to look into developing yourself, and see what a tedious and difficult work that is. Then maybe you won't come off as so ignorant, when you call developers lazy and what not.

At gearslutz recently a user said all plugins sounded the same because they were build using juce , he thought Juce was something like synthedit but with build in dsp modules only and that every developer had to make the best use of these modules

Well to be fair, there are some basic DSP modules built into JUCE https://docs.juce.com/master/namespacedsp.html but they are 100% optional obviously.
Most developers don't touch those modules and just use JUCE to solve the boring problems. The DSP is exactly the type of code that most developers actually WANT to write themselves, that's where the value is added.

Considering the feature set, maturity and degree of support/available it might easily mean being penny wise and pound fool. 40$ doesn't even buy a developer work hour and is the monthly cost of Juce for those selling under 500k$
Of course what I said was about new products. If you already have a codebase things get more complex.
