Are you sure? I see at the end of that page:
Offline activation

If one of your devices is not connected to the internet but you would like to authorize it, install and start Serum 2 on that device and you will be provided with a Machine ID.

Go to https://xferrecords.com/my_account and choose the offline authorization option. Note that you might need to deauthorize existing devices if you run out of authorizations. Download the license and provide it to Serum 2 on your offline device for activation.

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

Yes, that's called "challenge/response" you still need to authorize your pc through their server.

I get some of you don't care about this stuff, but it's still part of the newer version feature, and a relevant topic for some.

well strange that also TAL does/will do it too. sadly, u-He is missing, guess they will do it too some time. not fond of this, as i always was praising TAL and Serum.

What the heck? Maybe it is about time to publish some details?

At this point I really want to just come to this thread unaware of anything and see people discussing the release

I think with the machine authorization link posted on page 34 of this thread showing serum 2 in the text and screenshot kinda confirm its being beta tested right now. Shows it being updated February 1st. I would imagine serum 2 will be out soon - by latest end of summer. Really really really excited for serum 2

"Spectral: This is likely my favorite addition to Serum, I love spectral effects, and even less common, spectral resynthesis. Being able to combine this with the various engines in patch design allows for a new array of sounds for atmospheres and basses. This spectral engine has a pleasing blurry quality great for smooth textures and rich harmonic density. The included spectral filter lets you draw any filter curve to remove or boost frequencies. You can apply unison and the wave warps here as well, but there’s an additional inclusion of spectral warps unique to this engine. These can spread partials, boost harmonics, gate frequencies below a threshold, twist phases and even apply masks or vocoding from other oscillators. Enough otherworldly sound potential lies within this engine that it could be a powerful synthesizer all on its own"

Also a granular engine and multisamples.
