Not a comment on the synth, I'm sure it's very good, but my selective dyslexia keeps on misreading Monark as Nomark (in a Scouse accent, to boot).

I think the longhaired-dwarf-with-his-nuts-in-a-vice soundset for Kontakt is due this year.
An idiot on Set Theory:

I assume it be released at the same time as the pseudo-jazz-guitar-wank-cliche soundset?

Surely that's got to wait for the release of Massive 2? widdly-iddly-wubwub...

Dont pick up K8 now and then complain when the next version comes out a couple weeks later.

Would be nice, but we all know already that there's going to be the usual slew of complaints once it happens...

the pricing seems to be flawed.

as a K7 owner it would cost me 649€ to upgrade to K9 Ultimate. And only 548€ from K7 to K9 to K9U.

ENV1 wrote:Curious if they got the filter envelope right. The voltage accumulating filter envelope is about as important to the minimoogs character as the filter itself, so if they want to call it an emulation, it better be there...
Monark Manual wrote:The envelopes always continue from their current internal state. So, if you retrigger the envelope during a long release they do not jump to an initial value to start off the attack phase but continue smoothly from the current state. This envelope implementation in MONARK comes with an interesting side effect relevant to playing that somewhat makes up for the lack of responsiveness to velocity sensitivity: With a short attack and long release times MONARK's envelopes will keep building on top of themselves and actually keep rising. So notes played quickly in succession get more and more accentuated. You can either increase the attack or decrease the release time to avoid this behavior.

Answers your question? :)

OK, if it's gonna be a Minimoog emulation to rule all moog emulations, then I hope that Prophet 5 is next to rule the rest.
