With Softube, it's interesting that you get the module for the Softube Modular as well. Ok, the Synapse is polyphonic and has effects. But I found the sound of the Softube better. But I can well imagine that the UAD version is similarly good (hence my question whether UA has developed this itself).

The UAD Minimoog is very accurate to the real thing. The Moog one, not as much. Arturia's falls in between.

This is the iLok licence for the Luna-native Ampex extension, which you also get if you own the Ampex DSP plugin.

I see. Can't user Luna as I'm not on a Mac so I did not think of it as a possible reason. But yeah, makes sense.

Some UAD plugins are run of the mill. Some are incredible. I've yet to hear any sort of distortion/harmonic plugin that comes anywhere close to the Thermionic Culture Vulture. It annihilates Sound Toys Decapitator (even though that is pretty good itself).

Also, no reverb comes anywhere as close as the AMS RMX16 for that specific sound. You can think otherwise, but you'd be delusional or hard of hearing. I've tried all the knockoffs over the years. Some come close but the UAD plugin is amazing.

I think that was fair price for "BEST OF UAD native"

I prefer Model72 by far. Best sounding software Minimoog without a doubt.

Recently I've requested the demo's and all Models(72,80,82,84) are must have in my opinion.
Can't imagine how it would be cool to have polyphonic hybrid made in Modular.
I've compared the Model 72 to the UAD Minimoog and indeed it has more low end and beef and that vintage tone (UAD is like reissue in that regard ). One thing where UAD is more authentic to me is overdrive.
I love that these come without FX and they SOUND GREAT DRY!!
I will hunt for sales when they are 39$

I can't believe there's still "best Minimoog-emu" discussions like this happening after the Legend came out... I would have thought that one settled it once all for all.
Weird that Softube even felt a need to come out with their own (clearly not as accurate) emu after that...
but here we are and people recommend it.

I was thinking about this last night. AMS is now the same company known as AMS-Neve right? The same company that for some unknown reason isn't allowing UA to sell the 1073 emulation to anyone who doesn't own UAD DSP hardware? If yes, then that makes me think the RMX16 may not be forthcoming. Not any time soon anyway.

I hope I'm wrong though. That's one I also desperately want to see ported. My "port in this order" wishlist would look something like:

1. AMS RMX16
2. ELI Distressor
3. Capitol Chambers
4. Ocean Way Studios
5. ELI FATSO Jr./Sr.
6. Korg SDD-3000
7. Ampex ATR-102 (even though I don't own this)

Not sure why, but I had thought Capitol Chambers was already native… but sadly it’s not.

I’ve been enjoying Hitsville Chambers, Softube’s Atlantis Dual Chambers, and IKS Sunset/Fame studios.

I missed Abbey Roads Chambers, but then found I liked these ones more.

I would love to see both Capitol and Ocean Way Studios.

UAD got back to me to confirm there is no further discount on these bundles - they did however offer me a voucher to use on my next purchase

On the uad forum, they’ve said no further discounts as it’s already cheap and any bundle purchases would mean duplicate licenses.
i get the part, that it’s already cheap and it’s fine. but the duplicate licenses confuse me. i already have 4 or 5 plugins of the mixing bundle, so if i buy this now, i have 4-5 duplicate licenses. if i would upgrade (even without discount) i would still have 1 license for every plugin

In the middle of working on a project, suddenly a UAD plugin stops working and asks to activate license. Did the internet connection drop out for a bit? Who knows. But if I hadn't opened the GUI I might not have noticed, and this is the kind of crap that one doesn't want to have to be worrying about. If I was rendering a project and some of the plugins had deactivated I might not notice until further down the line.

Just wait till you get a message on connect saying you need to restart your DAW for UA plugins to work. I've had that happen to me.

Very nice plugins but Connect + Ilok is problem after problem for me.

Do you just mean problems with the iLok cloud sessions, or iLok in general?

I’m honestly curious.

I haven’t had issues with the physical iLok but I still keep hoping they add machine authorization.
