New GUIs are really bad. I dislike that they took Arturias like aproach. Takes way too much space.

I don't know what "new" GUIs are you referring to, but they didn't "took Arturias like approach". If you are talking about the Legendary instruments, they are as they always were - a faithful reproduction of the original hardware. They are far from new - most of them (the vast majority) are already several years old.

And now they can zoom in, which makes them good (before, they came out severely blurred).

im pretty sure he is referring to the new(er) 2.0 versions of some of the Legendary instruments, like Jupiter-8 and Juno-106.

But they look exactly the same (except you can resize without blurring, now, and the extra toolbar at the top)

What am I missing?

they have been this way for some time now, it is true. but they are different than the original (pre-2.0) versions, and it is this what i believe is meant by "newer".

The only change is the addition of the "toolbar" at the top (which is very welcome for me). Does that justify the complaint?

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that. An option to hide that toolbar would have been a good thing. But it isn't invasive. Most of the time I even forget it's there. And the new browser is much better.

Actually Roland has upgraded Legendary version GUIs resizable without the blur (sadly version is not available anymore), but i was refering to added toolbar and aditional side panels. They are invasive and a waste of space.

I mentioned Arturia, because thats the other company that does with its plugins, adds unnescesery panels and other crap

Arturia tends to make their extra panels available via a fairly short (vertically) footer or header. When the panels aren’t in use they don’t take up much screenspace. The preset browser seems to take up a lot of unnecessary vertical height.

What do D-10/D-20 bring to the table that D-50 doesn't have? Regarding the others, yeah, many users (me included) already requested that JD-800 is extended with the JD-990 features. But the software JD-800 isn't even an ACB recreation, rather a re-skinned Xenology module made independent.

What do D-10/D-20 bring to the table that D-50 doesn't have? Regarding the others, yeah, many users (me included) already requested that JD-800 is extended with the JD-990 features. But LD-800 isn't even an ACB recreation, rather a re-skinned Xenology module made independent.

I like D-10/D-20 rompler type of sounds, including the drum kits. they have certain mojo to them, even the synths sounds. D-50 sounds more hi-fi, but D-10/20 have more character. I know many will laugh and say D-10/20 sounds cheesy or whatever, but it’s sounds get my attention.
That’s what makes synths or sounds often desired , not their perfection but their uniqueness.
Check out D-20’s demo “my brother” sounds amazing too. Sad, melancholy but beautiful.

It's almost a crime that Roland still didn't make an emulation/software remake of the JP-8000.

The way things seem, even Adam Szabo will be earlier with his take on the JP-8k than Roland.

Not complaining, it's just that, every time those synths come up, reps say this, and they still haven't surfaced. I get that there's a lot of catalogue Roland wants to do for the Roland Cloud, but, meh. The JP-8k is really popular, and has never seen a remake in hardware or software form from Roland. I am still waiting for Chro-8080 for Reaktor Player. I think a license can be bought now if you have the full version of Reaktor (which I don't have).
