JP-8 was more expensive than the Prophet-5. JP-6 was cheaper.

I don't think roland cloud has a good jp-8. Like others my go yo is tal's j-8.
I think what made the jupiter 8 so popular st the time was its versatility.

Makes sense. Tal has the most punch. I think the roland cloud is the brightest on its own but tal is my go-to as well.

my vsts won't work right now. "error connecting to roland cloud manager service" (even though cloud manager is running and i was able to install an update.) "your authorization has expired or is incorrect" when i put password into a vst.

You might have to uninstall/reinstall the RCM. But then again if you can't connect, you might not be able to download it at the moment.

i am connected, the manager is running and downloaded an update for zenbeats or something. it's just the plugins giving errors. if it's still happening later i might try a reinstall, i gave up for now.

Any word on new instruments coming to Roland Cloud? I was originally thinking that a JP-8000 might be cool. But I owned a JP-8080 back in the day and it was pretty much a one trick pony. I greatly preferred my Nord Rack 2, Virus Kb, and especially my Yamaha AN1x. Why oh why did I sell the AN1x? It might just be the best sounding Virtual Analog synth of all time.

But it was a keyboard and the UI was pretty clunky. Regardless, I would buy Arturia's V Collection 10 in a heartbeat if it includes a spot on emulation of the AN1x.

What does Roland have left in their stable of synths that they could offer as Cloud plugins? A virtual V Synth? A plugin version of the S-770 sampler? Or perhaps the newer and better sounding Juno-X engine? Or possibly a plugin version of the GAIA 2?

Unfortunately, the pickings seem to be getting slimmer and slimmer.

Guess this is it. Take it or leave it. I suggest the latter. Just buy a lifetime key for something you want and skip whole subshit

The Tal J8 with VCO Calibration knob set to around 3 gives you the same Oscillator sound as Roland Jupiter 8 plugin.

Yeah, it looks like Roland is on a cycle of updating existing plugins without releasing new ones…
