When the name has a Guitar brand in it, the first thing on the improvements is a guitar amp sim, and (logging in to my account) the first thing I see on the website are recently uploaded tutorials on how to record guitar, I'm guessing this is a major pivot towards Guitar users and Guitar based music. Which really does pigeonhole themselves.

Maybe we'll see a trial version in a few weeks? Yes, odd not to see one at launch. Who is going to spend 200 dollars first to see if they are satisfied with the product?

Trial usually drops about 30 days after launch...

I also logged into the main Fender store, but it only lists the app at full-price. I have a Studio One Pro 7 perpetual license registered to my PreSonus/Fender account, just to spell it out.
First go here (and make sure your are logged into your MyFender acct):

Is anyone, who hasn't purchased the add-on in the past, able to get CTC-1 Mix FX to show under the Mix FX menu?

Says all 3 are included under the header "MORE THAN 45 NATIVE EFFECTS INCLUDED" but upon checking I don't see them: https://www.fender.com/pages/fender-studio-pro

Surely if you can offer a monthly sub you can offer a trial?

As noted previously - the trial is not (and never had been) a Day 1 priority.

Historically - the trial usually appears about a month after the release of a major - almost always with the first maintenance release actually.

This allows for new "triallers" to at least get one round of fixes - which probably makes Fendersonus Support happy too.

Pretty sure these guys have their hands full in so many other areas right now.

You may just as well have said 'it's not company policy'.

I got that and I thinks it's daft <edit> - anyway I don't want to derail the thread, I'll probably give it a go when a demo is available, no matter what sort of patronising 'win for you' person you are.

Well - just wanted to be sure you know why and when to expect it.

If it's earlier than a typical month - consider that a win for you.

Coz they're already included now. ;-) :-D
Are they? I can see the ones I already owned (plus the Softube one) but not the CTC-1 which was always more expensive so I never got that one

CHF79 upgrade for me from V5 - now we're talking!
Having said that: what's actually new featurewise?
Splice Integration, Stem Separation, Clip Launcher....
Wasn't all that in V7 already? :?

Yes - scroll down until where it says "more than 45 FX und included" - you can scroll left/right through the listed plugins - all three CTCs are in there:

I bought SO7 when it came out. If I don’t get this for free after a full year of nothing, I’ll be quite pissed.

I don’t know what to feel about this Fender name on a DAW that I love.

That said, upgrade feels worth it for $99.
New HW looks really good too. I’m already using Atom so if I decide to update my Studio One, I will probably buy that new controller too.

Still it just… Just feels not right, somehow.

I’m not sure if I should feel happy or not.

Thankfully my lifelong FL studio license is still here.

No "free" upgrades that I can see. Unless someone over there is really taking their time

My annual updates "plan" expired on Oct 12, 2025 and all I see in my shiny new MyFender account - is all the stuff that was the old MyPresonis account - ending with S1 v7.2.3

This sounds like it will end about as well as the Gibson/Cakewalk wedding......LOL!!

That aggressive Fender branding is not going to go over well with long-time Studio One users.
They should have kept the 'Studio One' name, and simply added "by Fender".

Yamaha acquired Steinberg/Cubase, but were intelligent enough NOT to rename it 'Yamaha Cubase Studio'.
It's not going over well with THIS longtime PRESONUS Studio One user. I used to work for Presonus. Been using Studio One from day one. I was even involved with it's ancestor Kristal Audio Engine. The bean counters at Servco Pacific who own both Fender and Presonus can kiss my patoot. I'm done. I'll continue to use PRESONUS Studio One V6.4 for the time being but it's time to find another DAW that's worthy of my trust. As was mentioned above Yamaha has been a far more responsible shepherd of the Steinberg brand and Cubase. I was a long time Cubase/Nuendo user before I became involved with Presonus. Maybe it's time to revisit Cubendo land. Back in the day Presonus and its users were almost like an extended family. Now it's just another corporate money suckhole.

BTW.....Fender has also re-branded the hardware AND it appears like they've discontinued EVERYTHING except the audio interfaces!!

The writing's been on the wall for some time. I knew when they shut down the official company Presonus forums it was going south.
