Yep, there is usually greater discount at a later time. That's what I meant...stippenstoh wrote: Sun Jan 11, 2026 3:12 pm Thanks, I should have been more specific, -50% is the introduction price but I was wondering if SSL historically are likely to have a steeper discount (70-80% as seen in others) within the first 1-2 years of a new plugin?
e.g Blitzer, a newer SSL release, was heavily discounted at -75% within a short time of its release.

Yes, that's how I understand it. Where the original Sonible plugins are clean sounding, the SSL versions are not clean sounding and have the sound of SSL plugins.Aloysius wrote: Sun Jan 11, 2026 3:31 pm Aren't these just Sonible plugins with maybe the SSL sound and interface?
AFAICT, the SSL G3 MultiBusComp was the most recent plugin to get a heavy discount, and that happened 2 years after its release. Blitzer was released in 2022 and wasn't heavily discounted until 3 years after its release.

Must be due to only official support for Final Cut Pro & Premiere ProThe Noodlist wrote: Sun Jan 11, 2026 3:34 pm Motu HD Express ExpressCard Audio/Video Interface (2 in stock) £58 Recommended price £643 -91%

And also video-resolution only HD, (1080), at hardware-level when capturing
But sure a handy no-brainer for some people

Thank you for reminding me about Blitzer. I had forgotten that I already own a copy and how good it is.Uncle E wrote: Sun Jan 11, 2026 3:51 pmYes, that's how I understand it. Thanks for the warning ,.. didnt know they were potentially unreliable
From time to time I have considered using their EU-based NL-shop ,.. but never did
I will have to look deeper into this issue before I eventually order anything from them

I’ve had everything arrive. The last delivery had issues. I had to pay import duty, etc and claim it back from Bax.

Based on your info I guess I'll get it at the intro price, after all it's just 20 bucks above any steeper discount anyways.
FWIW, I have the major Sonible plugins and compared the trial SSL AutoBUS to Smart:Comp 2 and I had to tweak Smart:Comp much longer than autoBUS in my tests until I liked the bus compression.
