No not necessarily. I'm just making the point that chillsynth is all about analog warmth and instability, and Serum is a popular synth among producers of that genre.
That said, if I was making something like Com Truise with fat unison basses and where the synths are more upfront and isolated and less obviously drenched in a soup of effects I'd probably use an analog emulation like Arturia's J-8 or Aly James OB-Xtreme.
I actually tried comparing a unison PWM bass on the J-8 and on Serum 2 and the Arturia sounded better to me.
