No idea what you're talking about.
Repeats every few years @ NI it seems

I just wonder what he's still doing in this thread, when he's so full of hate for NI.glokraw wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:11 am Maths, schpellung, und sarkasum, you're probably

Seriously, move on, never look back. Not worth it.

I'm a blast at parties, too.

The only reason the bitching has made them revisit the decision is because the legally binding EULA language was discovered by users rather than NIs f**king lawyers.
Another bad sign.
Oof, codec_spurt put it on em!

And we can all see what you are full of, as usual.

Hope they will come up with a solution. Some manufacturers who bet on activation based copy protection promise that in case they can no longer support a product (either because they go out of business or support isn't viable anymore) that they provide a permanent unlock key.
This is imho crucial, would think twice (or more 2999 times) whether I would buy anything new from a company that goes the route of just stopping activation, rendering the old, good synths unusable sooner or later.
E.g. I can imagine there are still people out there that keep a dedicated machine for NI Kore. It is great the way it is, so why not keeping using it. An old music computer is like a synth. You also don't throw that in the dust bin if the manufacturer stops selling it, it doesn't suddently stop making sounds (and if it does there are almost always ways to get it running again).

There's not even a need for a dedicated machine for Kore. At least if you run Windows, that is.

So, what are you doing here, then?chk071 wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:41 am I just wonder what he's still doing in this thread, when he's so full of hate for NI.
Personally, I own 3 NI hardware devices.
Further, I'm a Komplete user from back in the days of Komplete 2, the latest one being Komplete 12 Ultimate.
I have seen pretty much each of their plugin iterations going their way and partially it has been more than just dissapointing. In case of Battery 3 vs. Battery 4, I would even say it's a straight offence of my intelligence trying to offer that POS as an update (and yes, I can easily back up that statement, should you wish...)
Then add to this that all 3 hardware devices are rendered useless.
In a nutshell, I have every single right to complain about how NI treated me as a loyal customer.
So, what about you? What are you doing here?

Seems to be a general issue of mankind (see Covid-19...). And of course a personal one, too - still using Logic (and hence a Mac) even if I know I rather shouldn't. Still trying to justify shopping for a new Mac (well, that will be delayed anyway due to a 100% financial loss this season).

Is that a serious question?
You might be right though, if I think about it. Guess this thread is just for people who want to take a dump.

I like a lot of what NI makes. Don't bother with the rest.
Never bought their hardwares, but have recommended at least
their Komplete Audio 6 usb interface, at times.
I like their useful software demos, which lead to useful purchases.
I like the wide range of sounds and effects on offer, far beyond
my ability even to conceive of the origens, let alone bring them
into the air. I enjoy and use their holiday gifts. But I'm quite
new to the game, compared to many who have valid grievances.
But NI are not armed robbers, and they have opportunities ahead
to improve or even reverse choices that have burned loyal customers.
NI are quite unique in this audio business, as their longevity
and large product catalog have at times been outpaced
by speeding progress and then spanked by the mother of invention.
There are few audio businesses with a two DECADE frame of reference
who have not made blunders, or lost crucial team members
when needed most. NI have explained some of the coding
difficulties moving forward, and from my non-coding perspective,
they sound daunting. Any single person can review personal
decisions over two DECADES, and think
what a fool
I've been/am
But each day has opportunity to
make things better. Win the day! Work for a winning streak
My 'expensive gear' purchases are determined by
perceived usefullness, without knowing the people
who made the products. The no-brainer purchases
aren't worth losing sleep over, but it's still important
at times to comment on the pro's and cons, without
involving any vendettas. We can save those for the actual
armed robbers out there, and hoping never to meet one!
Cheers
