3 Is it expected behaviour that Syntronik 2 only plays Syntronik 1 presets or should the original editor open (I am aware there are playback glitches which are being addressed by Ik. I am wondering if I should be able to see the original Syntronik 1 editor in Syntronik

Everything that you could do with a Syn 1 preset is available in the Syn 2 UI. No need to launch the former Syn 1 UI any longer.

There was no "editor" in Syn 1, only the faux legacy instrument front panel with the knobs and buttons, etc. to adjust synth parameters. That view is still available in Syn 2.

Interesting. I am getting editor not available messages when I try to view the basic synth rendering image for Syntronik 1 presets. I am running the latest version of Syntronik 2. The presets play but no editor at all ... I am only expecting to see the one that pretends to the be the synth not the detailed version. I wonder what is going on with my install?

Yes, that is my understanding. There was no editor in Syntronik 1. So it is the same for Syntronik 1 sounds.

- Fixed a bug where the pitch bend range was displayed incorrectly on the Edit panel
- Fixed a bug on the SH-V panel where the Osc 2 controls were reversed
- Fixed a bug on the VCF3 panel where the BPM Sync and Osc 2 controls were reversed
- Fixed a bug in the 99 Synth where Syntronik 1 presets were missing the 12dB filter slope
- Fixed a bug on the Modulum panel where controllers were recalled incorrectly
- Fixed a bug where time DAW signature changes could cause an audio glitch
- Fixed a bug where Syntronik 1 preset Porta and Glide knobs were recalled incorrectly
- Fixed a bug in where Syntronik 1 presets incorrectly displayed the filter slopes for the C and R Type filters

Note that if the above wasn't clear, I've been told all reported issues with the Multis were resolved with this update too. The Multis themselves were fine, it was an issue in the code where they were not all loading correctly. That has been fixed so you can update and use the Multis with confidence now, thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thanks Peter. Way better. Seeing "Syntronik 2 Max" Multi's now. Appreciate you leaning in.. Still seeing an issue where aftertouch, works on the first swimlane / instrument in a multi.. but doesnt seem to work in the other instruments of a multi. Havent fully verified this yet though.

Good to hear about the update. But thousands of customers (I imagine) won't hear about it without an email. Not everyone comes in here. Bug fixes and updates are exactly what customers DO want emails about from Devs they've bought from, surely.

We send out emails about updates. Not sure why you might not have gotten one about this but seems like you might not get any even though we send them to all of the email addresses of those who have a product registered when we update. There are also a lot of users so there could be a delay.

LITTLE report on the Syntronik 2.0.3 update

Contrary to what I was told by IK Multimedia support and what "Peter" announced, this update doesn't fix much!

Let me explain:

1-The LPF "O-type filter" resonance still doesn't work on Syntronik 1 presets loaded in Syntronik 2.

2-The cut off, the resonance and the AHDSR envelope of the BPF "O-type filter" still don't work with the Syntronik 1 presets loaded in Syntronik 2.

3-In addition to that, the difference I heard on the "O-type" filter, even with a resonance of 0, between a preset loaded in Syntronik 1 and 2 is confirmed (...by me ) BUT ON ALL FILTERS

Already with the unmodified preset (first audio item) we can see a difference in level

Same thing on the last 2 audio items, one with an LPF 'M-type' and the other without any filter.
=> The bug is not only the filter section or enveloppe filter...

On the 2nd audio item, with effects disabled, on the 3rd and 4th with effects disabled and OSC 2 disabled

We can see that Syntronik 2 does not respect the envelope (or envelopes) since there is a 1 beat and 2 step shift to reach the maximum audio level of this sweep!

These 3 bugs affect all Syntronik 1 presets loaded in Syntronik 2, all Syntronik 1 multis loaded in Syntronik 2 and all Syntronik 2 multis containing a Syntronik 1 preset (or part)!

If you want to test, it is more obvious on low notes.

4-Peter announces that you can load multis into Syntronik 2 "WITH CONFIDENCE"
and that all reported bugs concerning multis have been solved with this update.


Little game of differences, on the multi "Bio Diversity

I did not put the part 3 or part 4 but it's the same on the other parts the filter is disabled in Syntronik 2!
This bug affects all Syntronik 1 multis in the beat, groove and groove split folders.

On the other hand with Syntronik 2 version 2.0.2 when a preset was not loaded correctly by a multi, there was an asterisk before the name of the multi and before the name of the faulty "part" but there is nothing anymore, unless you check with Syntronik 1

I also made a small render on the multi "Cold Lead" without the effects

So we find the same bug and sound differences that the single presets!

5-On the Syntronik 2 presets, the resonance of the 6dB LPF "C-type" filter still does not work, the resonance of the 6dB HPF "C-type" filter still does not work, the resonance of the 6dB HPF "O-type" filter still does not work, the resonance of the 6dB HPF "Classic" filter still does not work.

6-Impossible to switch from one filter slope to another in the SH-V synth panel
=> this is a display bug only, when you try to drag the slope faders, they move just a little bit but don't go to the right position but you can hear a small change and if you go to the new edit panel and view the filter, you can see that the slope has changed and you can change the slope directly here too.

This display bug occurs on :
LPF "R-type" with Syntronik 1 and Syntronik 2 presets.
BPF "C-type" with Syntronik 2 presets
LPF "C-type" with Syntronik 1 presets
NOTCH type "O" with Syntronik 2 presets

7-On the synth 99 panel, the 24 db slope of the "m-type" lowpass has disappeared whereas it was present in version 2.0.2, the 24 db slope of the "classic" lowpass and highpass has disappeared whereas they were present in version 2.0.2 and the 24 db slope of the "o-type" lowpass does not appear.

Peter, I never get mails on updates, and I check my spam filters regularly. I believe that many of us are in this same boat.

No, i receive only mails for sales but not for updates.. ..and i have a few products from IKM.

Thanks, the recent update to SampleTank 4 has addressed the stabilty issues I was having when loading Syntronik presets with it and the quick response to some of the preset loading issues with older Syntronik 1 presets in the updated Syntronik 2 engine is welcomed.

I am also not receiving update available notifications from IK. I am on the mailing list and get the promotional materials as expected.

Last month I got an email from IKM Support reminding me to upgrade to MODO Bass 2, "Important message for MODO BASS 1 users". Same for "Important message for T-Racks 5 users".

But didn't receive an email about this update for stability in Syntronik 2.

Well I'll give IK an E for effort. At least they tried.

Yes the issue of the fuzzy GUI that should have never gotten past beta is fixed. So I'm thankful for that but no, 1080P is not "lower resolution". As of February 13th of this year it was still the most common resolution in use. If the developers are only working with 4K monitors this is a perfect example of why that's not a good idea.

But sadly the bug with loading S1 multis into S2 and the Arps not being turned on as they should be is still there.

Part A in the Max Multi "Backward Trail" is still a semitone sharp and you'd have to be Beethoven not to hear it.

Many of the Multis are still way too hot.

Those are things I've discovered in just the first 10 minutes of trying the update. No telling what else is lurking but I'm pretty much done faffing about with Syntronik 2.

But I'll say thanks to IK for at least trying. Bless their hearts.
