“Fortune’s Face” is an example of using LinnStrument as one part of a larger group sound. LinnStrument is controlling a Hydrasynth and Continuumini with subtle atmospherics and occasional leads. I used pads, bell-like sounds and synth leads taking advantage of timbre-Y control, pressure modulations, and pitch bends.

My friend Tom sang and played the guitars. I played piano, organ, Zendrum, and NS Stick for the bass parts.
The lyrics were inspired by the story of Percival Lowell, a 19th century astronomer who thought he mapped canals on Venus but, due to the optics he used, actually mapped the back of his own eye.

Another good one, Jeremy! And I love the story behind the lyrics.

Great soundscapes... A mature and tasteful use of the tools at hand.
Cheers!

"Staircase In A Glass House" uses LinnStrument 200 connected to a Continuumini as the sound source. This particular preset had an interesting combination of a bell sound with layer that could be sustained and modulated. I also liked the feature of adding a tremolo to the bell sound on the y-axis.

Beautiful, Jeremy! And I like that sound. Good reason to pull out my ContinuuMini.

Thanks, Roger! There are a lot of great sounds in the Continuumini that work especially well with LinnStrument.

Thanks ! It's always a tough balance to maintain between doing too much and too little when doing this. I figured out the key is to focus on the story I'm telling and let go of the ego. I'm not sure I achieved that with this 1st series though.
I think the new one is better in terms of storytelling.

"Whether Or Not" was inspired by a recent documentary about the life of the late great Wayne Shorter. I used LinnStrument 200 to play Audio Modeling's Soprano Sax and Animoog for the synth pads. Other instruments include electric piano, NS Chapman Stick for the bass, and Zendrum (IK Multimedia's MODO Drums).

“Shock Tea” is a tribute to the band Shakti. I had the privilege of seeing them a few weeks ago (with Bela Fleck as the incredible opening act). This piece features NS Stick, an Emerald Amicus 12 String Guitar, LinnStrument (violin), and a Korg Wavedrum (Tabla).
The SWAM violin is a lot of fun to play on LinnStrument!
