SampleTank 4 on the way

The manual has a whole second on there being two engines for the earlier ST3 sounds.

SampleTank 3 legacy instruments are supported here in their native format.

Just finished downloading everything. Booted up Logic X. SampleTank 4 crashed validation. Perhaps IK Multimedia should make sure their products and their download system actually work before they release a product.

Just a thought. There may be some DAW related compatibility issues regarding the window resizing. I have heard that hi-dpi compatibility can be particularly troublesome. DAWs often handle plugin window management in their own way.

If the standalone version resizes OK, then your GPU and display are probably compatible. If you have trouble in your DAW with either the VST2 or VST3, then you probably should open a support ticket with IK.

Well if thats the case, then its actually IK fault not to testing on every possible commercial DAW (Reason, Cubase, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Nuendo, Bitwig, Ableton, Studio One, Traktion, Reaper)

Anyways, im still quite shocked about this rocky ST4 release. You did do so well with Uno, new interface, T-racks 5 (minus reported and registered and aknowledged bugs half year ago ). Lucky people who didnt jumped on pre-orders, but even so if people who did that i think if requested IK should give a refund, that would be a right thing to do from their side.

This release isn't "rocky" for me. It's solid, and I'm loving it. We should keep in mind that forums like this tend to zoom in on issues for ANY software release, while there are many others who are just enjoying the software without posting.

SampleTank 3 legacy instruments are supported here in their native format.

There are different Edit Panels for SampleTank 4 Instruments and legacy SampleTank 3 Instruments. This is because of the difference between the SampleTank 4 and SampleTank 3 engines. The SampleTank 3 engine compatibility is provided to ensure that legacy content plays in SampleTank 4 exactly the way it played in SampleTank 3 without any conversion. In fact, SampleTank 3 Instruments cannot be converted to SampleTank 4 Instruments because of the difference in their structures. Hence the need for two different kinds of Edit Panels. So we will necessarily address the Edit Panel for SampleTank 4 Instruments and SampleTank 3 Instruments separately.

Possibly...However, ST3 release and ST4 release threads look very different from those by: u-he, Synapse Audio, Spectrasonics, etc.

I think it depends on the size and complexity of the product. Could IK do better? Yes absolutely. I'm going to enjoy using it until the issues are ironed out.

It's happening here. OSX Mojave. It seems to be a cross-platform thing. I've tried removing the libraries and reindexing but it has no effect. The ST3 sounds are unaffected as far as I can tell - it's only happening to ST4 presets.

all i know at least on my end... only standalone works. 4.0.1 update made it (standalone) lock ST4 no matter if i re-authorize it... also 4.0.1 removed ST4 multi option in drop down box. reverted back to 4.0.0 and ST4 is unlocked again and has the multi's back. but no actual driver (plugin) has worked yet.. only the standalone working. have tried in S1v4 Pro, Ableton Live 9 Intro, PT12.7 and FL Studio 20

using Win10 64bit (current) and nVidia vid card (current) looks like i will be standing in line on the IK tech support list lol

It seems that all of the ST4 entries are tripled, but only the the interface. Only one file actually exists on disk for each. Here's an example:

And you are a spokesman for the majority of ST4 users that you feel so important to answer for them that its not rocky? world doesnt spin around you you are just a small piece. So far majority expierience crashes and all other oddities, download issues, broken zip files.
