Can you control every parameter using NKS? i.e can you fully program sounds from INIT rather than just tweaking presets?EvilDragon wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 4:18 pm Then you use it within Komplete Kontrol and you don't have to worry at all about whatever you consider is "clumsy" about Reaktor. Then it's a preset like any other, and you can continue tweaking if you so will. Just like any other synth.

Different people like different flavors, but there is no denying that their GUI's are on a (very) good level and that they have gone through quite an evolution. Some people like skeuomorphic design, other don't but either way the usability of the GUI's is (very) good.v1o wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 6:50 pm Not everyone likes Arturia GUIs, I don’t think they are very useable with their faux 3D perspective and the skeuomorphic design wastes much screen real estate.
Reaktor on the other hand, has some obvious flaws that don't get resolved. OK, the codebase is very old but one can't keep using that excuse.
Then, what's stopping them. Surely they must know this is a common complaint.v1o wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 6:50 pm If NI wanted they could package Reaktor synths as VSTs not requiring use of Reaktor player. That should be possible for the team at NI with some extra work.
Make a solution to resolve this an then re-use it for all your published reaktor synths.

vurt wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 6:28 pmthe discussion about full reaktor, was about being able to increase polyphony, not that you need it to use the synth.martinjuenke wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 6:23 pmThat‘s the frightening thing in this thread:Dasheesh wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 6:17 pm you don't have to buy reaktor. the very first words out of the mouth were "plays in free reaktor player". you will have to install all that software manager to use it tho.

There are most important parameters mapped to controller pages, but otherwise you can tweak any patch however you want with all the UI controls just like you would in any other plugin.acid alex wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 6:57 pmCan you control every parameter using NKS? i.e can you fully program sounds from INIT rather than just tweaking presets?

It seems like the goal of this synth is to make money with little effort or imagination. What if N.I. are simply counting on people blindly buying anything remotely connected to "analog" ?mickbenjamins wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 3:06 pmWhat if the goal of this synth isnt to be a new mega synth, but to be a simple, fun-to-use polysynth that makes it easy to dial in good sounding patches, that fills up a void in the product lineup?

It should be clear from the product page what the goal of the instrument is![]()
That's fine, NI is a business so they need to make money but that doesn't make their product in any way impressive.
Oh and I'm not sure you can call any synth "simple" if it requires Native Access and Reaktor Player just to sound like freeware (I assume it requires Native Access didn't bother to try).
Maybe if this was my first day in VSTi land I might be impressed but I've got a folder full of synths that blow this thing out of the water so it's not for me.
Anyway good luck to NI, I'm sure your faith in the buying habits of the general public will be rewarded.
So to that end I shall bid you all a fond farewell in this thread.

Seems like it's probably just Komplete padding to me. I just can't see many people buying into "simple, kind of a CPU hog, and not an emulation of a coveted piece of hardware."Teksonik wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 8:17 pmIt seems like the goal of this synth is to make money with little effort or imagination. Well... to be fair, I don't "refuse" to use Reaktor. But only for things where it is irreplaceable, like Prism, Razor, Form, some ensembles I cherish since ever, etc.Stefken wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 6:21 pm I mean: only in this thread alone there are several people that refuse to use reaktor. Then do something about its usability. If users complain, there is usually a reason for it. ( generally speaking, in KVR it's a sport). Like: if you release a synth, provide an object that people can drag and drop like a vst.
Definitely not the case with Super 8.

Great sounding synth , packs a lot of punch but is imho way overpriced .
If it would be coded in c++ ( halving the cpu usage ) at a lowe price ..then maybe

Then, if that’s the case, make me an actual stand alone VST, and don’t make me pay for Reaktor’s overhead for your simple synth. I understand using Reaktor to make something that’s very unique and maybe not a big seller because of it’s experimental nature, but I can’t for the life of me figure our why anyone would want to open up Reaktor just to have something basic.mickbenjamins wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 3:06 pmWhat if the goal of this synth isnt to be a new mega synth, but to be a simple, fun-to-use polysynth that makes it easy to dial in good sounding patches, that fills up a void in the product lineup?
