i installed the RCM on my notebook with Win11 (my main rig is on Win10), same crappy software, when you first install it and start you get the shop and your whole library to choose from. the day after it just shows "Starting up, please wait..." this error i got since 1 year, what helps? reinstalling this crap and it always works the first startup. nothing changed, RCM still not fixed and also no new instruments, only PR posts and soundpacks.

After IKM this is the 2nd worst Online DRM and Cloud App i know. how deep Roland fell...

Hi everyone,

I've never had serious authentication problems with RCM, however version v3.1.15 - PRD-95C2F8807 has reverted ALL my licenses to demo, **lifetime keys included**.

If I try and authenticate from within the plugin I get an error message saying the authentication is no longer valid, then I'm forced to log out of RCM and log in again in order for the plugins to load.

What's worse, is that after a reboot al licenses are back to demo again and I have to start over. I honestly don't think this is acceptable, especially not when my permanent licenses still require me to log on from time to time.

I'm running Windows 10 with the latest updates, the above issue happens in all DAWs and plugin hosts I have.
As much as I'm happy about the recent fixes, I can't think of a more cumbersome and overall broken manager app, except maybe Native Access.

EDIT: The actual error message; doesn't matter if the password I'm entering is correct or not, I'm getting this popup.

Regards,

Hey Marco, sorry about this, we are looking into it. Can you try and uninstall and then reinstall RCM using the installer tool and let me know if that resolves the issue? Let me know if it doesn't and I'll DM you to get some more information.
How many years has this been an issue now? And we are still reduced to uninstall and reinstall and cross your fingers, say four hail Mary's, and hope your Jupiter 8 aligns with Mars while the moon is in the 7th house

Seriously Jon no disrespect to you personally but this is beyond a joke at this point and sours the taste in so many users for anything Roland

Hi Jon, just the full reinstall did make a slight change, but it somehow wasn't enough:

At first it was like for @Caine123 with RCM stuck at "Starting Up", it didn't actually log me in so I was still in demo mode, and for some reason it was also preventing a reboot.

I terminated all the Roland processes, did a full shutdown/restart (it was probably overkill but, hey. worth a try) and the first thing I noticed is that I didn't get the Roland Permission Manager popup I often get after a reboot.

Since then I'm logged in AND out of demo mode. So in the end doing a fresh reinstall helped, but there's still some running process that probably isn't cleaned up properly, and a full reboot might take care of it.

Now I hope it lasts :hihi: This is the first time an RCM update has broken my setup so badly, before it was usually just the "Roland Cloud is not running" popups, but I haven't seen that happen in a long while.

Thank you for dropping by, let me know if you need any further detail.

You have to give them a little more time 8)
The RCM App is almost 9 years old now so we can't expect it to be perfect in that short amount of time from a big company like Roland  :hihi:

I’d like to see Roland Cloud model all of the classic BOSS pedals. BF-2, CE-1, CE-2, PH-1r, PH-2…
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Not seen it mentioned here, Zenology Pro is on offer for $99 until the end of May.
I got it a while back as an editor/preset maker for my MC-707. Kicking myself for not waiting until this sale tbh.
Just be aware it doesn’t come with the emulated SH-101 etc that you may be used to from a Roland Cloud sub. They are available as expansions but are expensive. If you do have an MC-707 or similar though you can’t bring patches relying on those expansions across anyway though not sure how it works on Jupiter XM etc.

there are probably only 3 people on the planet who understand how this stuff works, and none of them seem to work for Roland.

sagamusix wrote: Mon Jul 25, 2022 7:35 pm I recently started writing a JD-800 / JD-990 patch conversion tool, and I'm in the middle of adding support for the JD-800 VST to it (to convert SysEx to BIN and the other way around). Does anyone know if the BIN files from the VST plugin are compatible with the JD-08 or is that yet another format?
I've been looking for something similar for the JD-Xi , but appears nothing exists.
Is it possible?

I tried to merge two packs by copying (copy -b) two .bin files containing patches (dance collection 1 and 2). The bank is accessible, but only patches from patchset1 / .bin1 appear in patches on merged bank.

Wildly optimistic :)
