Perhaps I should've been a bit more precise, slightly off is what I meant, not night and day. The bar is high in 2025.DashOfLime wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 11:38 pmI never understand these statements like "was off compared to hardware" with VSTs from high quality developers. "Off" how? Given that no two pieces of ancient hardware are going to be the same I'd be curious to know what this means.itanever wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 4:33 pmIirc the Softube one sounded pretty close Roland's offering. I remember being surprised by that, because Model 82 was off compared to hw and I expect Roland's version be more different. I didn't go too deep with the comparisons, but it was enough for me to decide against choosing 101 as one of my play4life instruments.audiouser720 wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 4:25 pm How do their sh101 and jupiter compare to other offerings? Soz I cannot be bothered to go through the struggle of their installer thing just to demo them. For reference I didn’t like the TAL nor did I like the Softube; comparing to the real one. I am just wondering if Roland themselves have done a proper job
Iirc Dash Glitch did a deep dive on the differences. But I really don't care that much to rewatch it and argue about the differences. I'll just happily continue using my Model 82 despite any differences.
