Dunno what you mean. It's a sound the Prodigy does...
From that soundclip - god no. In the link Mutant posted, watch the first video - it's in there (and sounds gorgeous!)

Haven't found software synths to do that yet...

Ah man i just realized you meant the Moog Prodigy, not the group Prodigy... Nevermind my last post...

Then 15 years after or so, I saw a video with a man (Paul Wiffen?) explaining it was a Synthex patch and he also claimed that the harp was a fake because the beams couldn't trigger it fast enough. It was like learning that Santa Claus doesn't exist. That until I recently read the wiki where it is claimed that it you could hear malfunction at a concert, why it cannot be fake. What a mess. Still not sure what to believe.

Yeh :)

Yeah, different - the Prodigy's sync bend is quite unique...

Yup. That was the video I was referring to. At about 5.30 he claims that the lazer harp sound was taped because the harp was not a reliable trigger.

I don't run WIndows - as you've recommended this, does this do the sync bend that you hear in the first video well in your opinion?
Yes, but of course it doesn't get to 100% of what the real analog does.

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Some plugin dev seems to be using payed endorsements too much.

JMJ just got a tiny bit of street cred back, but still nobody will buy his new album :hyper:

Well, this video was taped for a presentation of a hardware manufacturer that wanted to bring the Synthex back.

I was present at the presentation during Musikmesse and there was quite a bit of resentment towards software emulations, including Paul Wiffen. There was even a guy in the audience who we didn't know who turned to us and made a remark about Diva that we couldn't quite comprehend. Might have been derogative, might have been ironic.

Anyhow, in the context of a hardware presentation you will hear lots of comments made in the excitement of the moment (or the wallet) that will gear towards hardware and against analogue. Likewise, in a presentation of a software emulation you'll also always hear a bias to the other side. It's natural.

With a range of oscillator intervals, that ripping sync sound is quite unique (and is the Prodigy's best sound). It's super grungy and aggressive, and makes other hard-sync patches sound pretty tame in comparison...

I'd love to find something that could do that, I kinda miss it (I don't have my Prodigy anymore...)
Sounds like a great idea. I've never had a Prodigy.

I've actually spent some hours with a Pro One the other day. Some monosynths have amazing potential that's often overlooked.

This is true.

What we need to do is to be practical and find the best for our setup (that's being hardware or software).

Years ago, I couldn't run the same soft synths that I consider now 'low cpu usage synths'. So, some hungry cpu software today, may will be my favourite after few years when I can buy affordable powerful processor. I don't know how Diva is doing with expensive i7 or Xeon. It might be not that cpu hog as with my desktop's i5 or laptop's i7.

Anyway, there are not many polyphonic analog synths out there less than $1000 (if any). Pulse 2 has paraphonic mode which can be (as I understood) 8 polyphonic total. For me, the main advantage of having, say, Blofeld and Pulse 2, is I can use $400 laptop for sequencing which will be more than enough for running Reaper or Studio one with their native plugins. But still, I don't think that Pulse 2 can do all the sounds that Diva does but I'm not sure till I have the two! :hihi:

used? Maybe in your place, but here where I live (and in many parts of the world) the used market is tiny and expensive for polyphonic analog synths.

So, list the new ones under $1000!

Could you please take list and erase ones with word used.
