The bigger question is can they continue to develop it which they failed at in the synthesizer market.
That company no longer exists and has been bought and sold by many entities over the years.

Leo Fender sold the company to CBS in 1965, CBS ran the company into the ground with poor quality and the pre CBS guitars became collector pieces

In 1985 CBS sold the company to a group of private investors including private equity groups. They ceased manufacturing in the USA and moved it to Asia especially Japan. That created significant issues and in 1987 they moved some production back to America with the Custom shop, and started production in Mexico

In 2001 a different Private Equity company purchased the company, after a failed IPO in 2012 the bulk of the company was sold to a different private equity company

All along from the moment CBS purchased Leo Fender's company different brands and companies that made different products were bought and merged into the company often with disastrous results
And that is all old news.

What is happening with Fender right now is smart and good for the many people who enjoy playing instruments and creating music.

I make pretty simple music, so don't even have a hardware mixer, but when the former Studio One get's bundled with a low-end Presonus mixer, I may get one, move the synths and guitar amps into a spare bedroom, and attempt some more challenging projects. The inclusion of Mustang ampsim plugins with the daw is a plus, and as I like the Fender V1 and V2 collections in Amplitube, I assume the new plugin products will be as good, or even a little better. May Native Access sink deep in the blue Danube, while the rest of NI floats off to somewhere $ 8) $

Maybe if your are a guitarist or make guitar centered music

I have Studio One my fear is any innovation moving forward is going to be Guitar Centric and useless for me

The big new features in Studio One 8, opppps I mean Fender Studio Pro are guitar amp sims, and integrated Fender Mustang Guitar and Rumble Bass plug-ins

As a synth guy those are useless to me

Lots of non guitar centric stuff in new 8.0 release:

This used to be a Native Instruments thread! But that is tiresome now...

I hope "Fender Studio Pro" (did I get it right?) :hihi: , well I would not mind at all if was guitar-centric, so what...this is a modern music application, in a modern age.

It can handle all sorts of stuff. It is also pretty elegant. I think MuLab is as well, in a unique way.

Why, I'll bet even a girl could use these!  :hihi: 8)

To get back to the topic:

Native Instruments Berlin and its associated holding
company are in "preliminary insolvency proceedings". In
these proceedings, lawyer Prof. Dr. Torsten Martini will now
explore what further options exist and what will happen next.

NI's business operations will continue as normal for now;
products can still be purchased and activated. :)

Torsten Martini will probably announce in March how things will
proceed. It could be, for example, that an investor has been
found and that NI can continue as normal. :tu:

Can someone ping me when we actually hit 90 days, so I can skip the middle bit of this thread?
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

That doesn't hold for everyone. Ampsims are great for adding eq, saturation, distortion, chorus and other modulations, and often have a range of presets that would take new users a pool of blind luck to come up with. The list goes on. Lots of people have gigged various keyboards with Twin Reverbs, Bassman, and other Fender amps. Guitar Rig and Reaktor ensembles are fun with keyboards. There's a lot of positive
mix-n-match available if a company that gets NI has a clue, listens to those NI turned away from, and has a good range of innovations to consider. How about a monitor with built-in SSD drive computer running Reaktor and Kontakt? $ :scared: $

Well, my position has always been...NI has cool stuff, maybe some software filler by today's standards?

But also, some really great software! And hardware, which takes it to another level. :!: :!: 8) 8)

Sure and you can also run Synths through regular guitar amps, the new Amp sims however in Fender Studio are designed however to have guitars run through them, that's why they exist and how they are marketed

Can you share examples of people who purchased Fender Studio Pro specifically so they can run Synths though a Fender Guitar Amp sim to add EQ instead of using a dedicated EQ plugin? How about for Saturation instead of using a dedicated saturation plugin, how about distortions? Or Saturations?

In any case Native Instruments doesn't make Guitar Amp Sims which apparently are so vital to synth based production. I mean how does anyone ever add EQ or Chorus to a synth without a Guitar Amp Sim that has dozens of cabinet models

Since they don't and that apparently is the future of music production I doubt Fender is interested in buying NI

Absolutely unhinged response, wow

Guitar Rig Pro says hello.
Mac mini m4 pro, Reaper, too many plugins, Modal Argon8, Novation Circuit Mono Station and now a lovely Waldorf Blofeld.

But that doesn't exist which is why we need Fender Mustang guitar amp sims inside of Studio One don't you know, because there is no other way to get EQ or Chorus

The Mustang range of amps, some very affordable, some usb enabled, have introduced many beginner and mid-level players to modern guitar tones and amazing presets they would have struggled to imagine, while making it easy to edit some OTT tendencies the preset makers inflict on us. That's a bonus in Studio One's successors. I own a couple Mustang amps, and creating presets for them has been aided greatly by some basic examples of synth effect chains picked up here over the years. Nobody says ampsims are fundamental to synth uses, just that they are options readily available, and are effective in capable hands. How many pro users does Guitar Rig need to earn a 'Pro' sticker in the ads or minds? How many amateurs/hobbyists paying the same cash price as pro's, add to the professional status of a software? Would a beancounter prefer 50,000 sales to amateurs, or 5000 sales to people making money with music? Fortunately, there is a blend of users, so the choice is not needed, and competition lowers prices. One can buy a fabulous setup for $2000 :hyper:
