OK thats are all obviously Mac speciofic inconveniences. I always knew that Windows is simply the most reliable and rock solid plattform.
Here at least from the beginning EVERYTHING (except the little triplet display-bug) is working, so perhaps you should think about using a more reliable plattform .

Not all do. Sta Woodwinds samples -parts 1 and 2 do not. MP2CE Parts 1,2 and 3 do not. SampleTank 3 SE sound content part1 & 2 do not. On top of that, the AU version of 4.0.1 crashes Logic Pro X plugin manager, at least on my system. ... NOTHING is working here.

Are you a long term ST user? Do you have Imported Instruments from ST2? If so, how do you locate them with the new ST4 browser? Thanks

1) I didn't trolling any user at all any where. Making jokes about the concurrence of Mac and Windows is not at all anything personal as long it is not related to any person at all.
2) Please understand "here" is not the same as "there"
3) Dont mistake a post that does not mentioned any skill of anyone at all as statement about anyones skill.
Just please stay a bit more relaxed if someone nakes one or another joke about Mac-Window and please stay focussed on the real matter of this thread the ST4 which is in my view and expiereince by far not at all that problematic as some here seem to pretend from their personal point of view.

... FYI, my take on the resizing issue is this:

The resizing handle is located on the bottom right corner (not left). And I can resize the ST4 VST2 in Ableton Live 10, so I am not clear that I fully understand the unsupported comment.

Peter, I am also anxiously awaiting clarification on resizing in VST2. (1) If it is working in Live 10, how can it be "unsupported"? (2) Are there plans to change "unsupported" to "supported" in a future update?

Everyone who has ST4 working, please comment on VST2 resizing in hosts other that Live. Reason is probably the most important.

I have the SampleTank 4 VST2 plugin working and resizing (with the handle on the lower RIGHT corner) in:

Ableton Live Standard 10.0.6*
Akai VIP 3.1.1
Cakewalk by BandLab 2019.01
Reaper 5.971
Reason 10.2.2 Lite
Tracktion Waveform 9.3.2

*Although ST4 works in Live, it seems a bit "crashy". If I open up a saved Live set set containing an instance of ST4 that needs to rebuild the database upon the next launch, then "BOOM!", down it all goes. Also if i don't save the Live set containing the ST4 again, before closing Live, then Live gets a serious error and crashes. Live seems very sensitive to the ST4 UI state for some reason.

Note: Studio One 4 Pro 4.1.3 apparently cannot detect the VST2, so only the VST3 is available (and working). The VST2 is in the scan path, and I have reset the S1 plugin blacklist, etc., but no luck with VST2 here. An odd thing is that I also noticed the same thing with Syntronik. But since the VST3 works fine, I'm not going to worry about this.

Just because you didn't troll someone personally doesn't mean it isn't trolling. You trolled an entire segment on the user base and it was unnecessary since this thread has nothing to do with Mac vs PC.

Again just because you got lucky doesn't mean that others are not having problems with what amounts to a Beta release of ST4.

No one is "pretending" to have issues. They are simply reporting what they have experienced in hopes that IK are listening and will solve the issues.

And however it is of course reasonable to "report" ones own problems, but of course it is likewise to "report" to have no serious problem.

BTW I never posted anything at all about my alledged "skill"at all. To insinuate me something like that is neither a "good one" nor any kind of "humor" at all, but just needless excitement which an important thread like this here realy does not deserve at all.

Yes the "skills" that led to one of the most embarrassing product releases in recent memory perhaps since the invention of the VSTi are certainly on show here.

My problem was not that I use a Mac. I've been using DAWs since about 2004 and I started with a windows machine. My current Mac machine is rock solid and stable. I use Logic Pro X and I have a huge collection the 3rd party plugins and instruments all of which installed on my system without major issues. But to date, I have installed all 3rd party material on my internal SSD. This was filling up. The size of this download (250+ GB) prompted me to install this on an external HD. So I pointed the library downloads to this external HD and started the download. I thought everything was going fine until I started downloading the ST3 material. This defaulted to /users/shared/IK Multimedia/sampletank3. This, of course, was not on my external HD so I rerouted the downloads to my external HD. When I downloaded ST4 4.0.1 it crashed the plugin manager in Logic Pro X. It was at that point that I posted about nothing working on my system. To fix this I had to uninstall ST4 and then redownload it. Then it worked, but when I did I quickly discovered that I couldn't access the ST3 material on the external HD no matter how many times I tried to fix the path. There were issues with some of the ST4 material as well. I felt that I had just wasted 3 days. To try and salvage this I have deleted all the material from my external HD and started a clean reinstall using my internal SSD drive and allowing the process to set the path. Hopely this will work but if it does I'll wind up with a nearly full (80%) SSD drive. Not ideal but the instruments should load a lot faster.

So I just finally finished the full ST4 Max download, with the exception of the Sampletank 3 content I have with a legacy installation on an external hard drive. I've added the ST3 path to the Sound Content settings page and rescanned all instruments several times but ST4 fails to find any of the ST3 content. Every load fails with reference to a path such as:

"Instrument ST4 Error. Cannot locate Tank at path '/Users/Shared/IK Multimedia/SampleTank 4/Samples/11 Strings/Ensemble Strings/11 Violins/11 Violins Staccato.pak'."

This path would be correct if it started with /Volumes/OWC 1TB HD/IK Multimedia/SampleTank 3/... That's what I have specified in the config.

Is this the sort of thing other folks are experiencing?

No this was a redundant file, you do not need it. Just the first one, which is now the only one there since the removal of the redundant Part 2, is necessary.
