I wrote some lyrics and tried to make the song have a structure. It still turned out semi-disjointed and episodic. I'd be glad to post the lyrics if there's interest.
Acoustic guitar, live drums played by my brother, me singing, and some synthesizer effect stuff.

Excellent! I'd say you're really bringing your tunesmithing into focus. Did you pitch-shift your voice?
Looking forward to more of this, and yes, please drop the lyrics on us!

thanks bob, shamann, and polyslax for listening. I didn't use any pitch shifting or auto-tune stuff on my voice actually. I double tracked and panned and applied some reverb. I should note that on the last part with vocals I do use a kind of vibrato effect with xhip chorus.
lyrics:
why do we believe
things we cannot perceive
things that may be illogical
such is our imagination of the ontological
our deepest beliefs
come from vague impression
counter to rational and logical conventions/confessions
proofs for the divine
travel up an incline
they do not convince
unless we have deeply felt existence
metaphysical, mystical, transcendent divinities
somehow remind us of infinity
solemn, self-surrender from fear and joy
self-centered egoism destroyed
why do we believe
things we are able to perceive
things that are logical
the dichotomy of the theological
before the monkey trial
and the opening of the enlightenment vial
there was less denial
in the faith lifestyle
the soul opens out
the world falls out
sink into unison

kinda wild kinda groovey. lots of delectable bits in here ... very imaginative and idiosyncratic. like the episodic form. love the mentally challenged drum part. i agree with shamann about the hippie feeling. ach i'm ch'aving a fleshback!
