Ok this may not be a link to a great guitar post, as such.
But it is a great link nonetheless.
In fact - Two great links.

http://www.youtube.com/user/JustinSandercoeSongs
I know loads of people know this link and know Justin, but not everyone
in the world does. This post is for them.

Also check his forum/community:
http://justinguitarcommunity.com/index.php?

Not only is Justin a superb guitar player with an exceptional ear, he has
a very fine talent for doing his own original stuff.
He struts both sides of the fence very well.

He is also an exceptional teacher.

Go to them links if you want to take your playing further, learn about
equipment etc.. etc...

From total beginner to advanced (but getting a bit stale), Justin has
something for everyone.

And his DVD's look tempting. Haven't got one yet, but I would imagine
for a beginner they would be essential.

Justin even gives links to personal teachers in your country.

What a guy! What a guitarist! What a teacher!

If you ever wondered how Neil Young played "Needle and the damage done",
or even how "Wish you were here" was really played. Check out Justin's
Youtube link I posted.

cheers.

Anyone know of some good guitar synth plugins? Or maybe a link to the fretted synth downloads that work?

About the guitar synth stuff...I am actually working on a VST basic 3 VCO's Filtering guitar synth with a good tracking similar to the monolyth latency free concept but with less knobs and maybe midi out capability...a basic go to GT SYNTH to smack your favorite IR cab to deliver that dirty lofi grind experimentation ^^

before that you can test for free my last creation for the guitar world and basically anything you want to plug it in, made for personal use at first but...I'm feeling kind of sharing the vibe... 8)

Well, I for one think that someone who can't play shit, shouldn't do drive pedal tests, as it does them no fair justice. And unfortunately fuzzboxgirl can't play shit.

I still prefer to mic up guitar amps and use hardware effects 95% of the time, and that is how I normally work, but for the other 5% when I use guitar amp simulators, effects etc, I reckon the ones that come with Logic 9 are the best ones I have tried yet.

I agree that for some sounds they are among the best there are, sometimes even the best (at least concerning my taste). The tweed models are very nice but my sort of secret (psst!) favourite is the blue "Boutique" model.
They react very naturally towards dynamics, something that, at least for me, is often a lot more important than reproducing whatever tone 1:1.
