Hi
I've downloaded the demo of Reaktor and I shouldn't have, because i can't afford it right now... however I was wondering if anything comparable to the "Skrewell", or even the "Spacedrone" sound generator ensembles exists in the freeware world, or even as a cheaper alternative?

There's nothing I can thing of directly analogous to those two specific ensembles, but if you're looking for something free (or cheap) that's capable of building those kinds of instrument look at
Free (NB not all of these will be usable for making VSTs.)
Bonneville CPS
Chuck
PD
Processing
Cheap
SynthEdit
Synthmaker Personal
What you'll save in money, though, you may expend in time/effort...

not really similar to what you mentioned, but this is a nice little free plug...by the creators of Sophia.
maybe you'll find it interesting.

Processing is a(very powerful) audio/graphic developing environment, not a VST.

Aside from installing it and pondering the (sketchy) info I've not gotten Processing to do any of the cool things I read about on Create Digital Music. Probably because I have no internet at home, so at 4 am and I'm stumped I have no answers.
I'd like a whyterabbyt VST, though.

It looks complicated. Bit like MAx/MSP, no?

You probably need to grab the libraries that are an additional download.runagate wrote:Aside from installing it and pondering the (sketchy) info I've not gotten Processing to do any of the cool things I read about on Create Digital Music.
