Very good idea this topic, I think !

Tim was both an inspiration to my creativity, and an exceptional human being. He will be missed.

My favorite TC patch is featured in two tracks referenced in this blog post:

Tim was for me a model. I just love his sounds, his fantasy, his creativity.

Here a track for my unknown friend. His sound, his creativity, my arrangement. Love you with all my heart, Tim. Enjoy the ride, my friend.

Tim's influence on my music and the type of music I produce has been immense. I knew he was into various projects and helped everyone in any way that he could.

My tribute piece, using Subconscious, a free soft synth, and three presets designed by Tim is found here: http://www.macjams.com/song/51612 (http://www.macjams.com/song/51612)

I hope that I've added this comment OK.

Thank you for posting. I'm having SUCH a stressful day at work...having to work late fixing other peoples java bugs...arrrgggg...

Then I see your post and crank up this beautiful relaxing soundscape.

True to the spirit of TC, I'm finding it very relaxing.

I wrote this when cygnus was first released. In typical fashion, and now with much sadness, I never got around to posting it for Tim to hear. He was a great inspiration for me. Always kind, encouraging and enthusiastic. He will certainly be missed...

edit: sorry about the link, I don't know why it's adding a space in the title...

I haven't been using kvr as much lately and didn't hear about this saddening news until today...

I didn't see this deposit of Tim's tracks (that I sort of hacked into) posted in either tread and thought it was worth posting....

I'll definitely be working on a tribute track in the near future.
Ideas are bulletproof... I am not.

I've hardly been on this site for over a year so got a bit of a shock when I saw that he'd died. I have three of his synths and have made some use of them in the last few years.

This is one I posted on the AlgoMusic forum and which he liked.

This is my first song I have posted, I made this awhile back, however did not get around to finalizing it.

I used I believe, 7 instances of LinPlug Alpha, I loaded the AlphaCM patches designed by Tim Conrardy, and tweak them, some. The added FX came from FL Studio, Soft Clipper, Compression, and Delay.

I figure now is as good a time as any to share, and also show what a wonderful synth, LinPlug have with Alpha, please enjoy.

Very TCish. Thanks for sharing (and keeping the thread alive)
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently now an 'elderly' so maybe I forgot!

Hello KVR friends and family,

My name is Patrick McDowell. I have been Tim Conrardy's friend and fellow composer for over 30 years.

Like all of us I was stunned by the sad news of Tim's passing. We shared laughs, music, ideas, and family together. This year I am compiling, with his families permission, a library of Tim's sounds, patches, and music for an entire Library to keep his spirit alive within our Music Family. I have already begun this chore and have over 50 tracks, but need anything that can be supplied, songs, (MP3/MP4 or other formats) Photos, Patches, Software, recordings, tapes, or whatever you can supply.

I was overwhelmed by the response within the first 48 hours of his passing. All corners of the world came forth with condolances. I would appreciate all your effortsinto this venture as is becoming full time task.

My hope is to present this to the Recording Arts and Sciences for special acknowledgement for Tims Family to have as our gift.

Please help me with whatever you can.
Blessings,

Patrick

I was briefly an online friend of Tim's back in the mid-1990's (think: AOL), and did not know for sure until today that we had lost him. He and I had a running joke, since 1996 when he first sent me a cassette tape to transcribe, that it would take me 5 years to finish the job (that number became 10, then 20, whenever we'd email back and forth about it).

Not because it was technically challenging, but because I was -- and remain -- an admitted procrastinator. Sadly, that tape lay un-transcribed to this day on my shelf, partly from the passage of time, but mostly from the setup required to get it converted to floppy.

See, Tim and I shared one particular obsession, namely Yamaha's early line of digital MIDI instruments and computers, notably the DX7 synth (got mine in 1986 and am ashamed to say I barely played it all these years) and the infamous CX5M Music Computer. Using both, he had recorded a MIDI sequence into (what was then a ROM cartridge, which I may still own) the "MIDI Recorder" program, and saved it onto tape.

To date, Tim would be the only person to have heard this "recording" so I have no idea what it contains. I would like very much to give/send the tape to his family or friend whom you deem most fitting a recipient.

Problem is, the tape is not "playable" in any traditional sense, as it still requires someone (me?) to connect a CX5M Music Computer, with all of its various componentry, load the tape into MIDI Recorder, save the composition to floppy, then read the floppy into PC (that's the easy part!) and share the file. Far easier said than done, assuming the tape itself is even still readable.

I'm including links to two MP3 files that Tim sent me eons ago, which I must assume others are familiar with, as sadly I had no personal understanding of just how far-reaching Tim's career went after we first touched base lo those many years back, nor where these two compositions fit within his larger opus of work.

I hope you enjoy hearing them, perhaps for the first time?!

Please let me know ... if anyone's still out there listening ... how best to proceed.
