I started doing a cover of Stayin' Alive by my ex-neighbours, The Bee Gees but the bass riff morphed into Superstition so I gave up fighting it and decided to do Superstition instead.

next one, vintage progressive rock with a tad of blues.
when I'm lucky, it shows even a little bit of "vinyl" flair.
again, only legit zero-cost plugins and Tracktion 7 were used.
plz note there is a number of Chris' Airwindows plugins in this, which are now officially integrated with WaveForm. I had downloaded those directly since long.
Mixtrack by "Produce Like A Pro" (Warren Huart).
Tracktion workflow is great to organize these 80-something tracks, with the complex bus structure it makes almost 120 tracks.
No problem at all with my new 6 kernel (12 virtual) i7 CPU.

when I listen through some mixes and my own, older attempts, there is a typical sound, mostly in the treble, that not everyone likes. I tried to get away from this, and I think it is about using different types of EQ in place of the internal stock EQ. unless one has something like the Fabfilter and knows how to use its flavors, I recommend to use different plugins for different tracks. like: hihat, shaker, tambourine - different EQ plugin each. git 1, git 2 - different plugin each. but perhaps same comp and reverb.

Here is a new track I released today. All parts except some of the lead are composed using the composition facilities in Waveform.
The lead is hand-played on an EVI and the rest is midi, triggering a Nord Modular G2 and recorded as audio in Waveform. Drums are EzDrummer 2.

Tracktion 7/32bit. 130 tracks (including all the busses).
Racks were essential to get the job done. There is complex sidechaining and "trackspacing" (kick to bass, solo git, voc to Rh. git etc.), also racks were used for EQ'd slap reverbs to the opposite stereo side of the guitar.
Many analog emulation plugins were used, e.g. by Lindell, Elysia and Brainworx, Ozone, TDR Nova, plugs by Variety of Sounds, AirWindows...
