Thought some folks here would be interested in this:

Sitala's already a pretty popular drum sampler on the desktop, and we've just released a version of it for iOS that's $4.99 until the end of June (after which it'll go up to $9.99).

The primary use is as an AudioUnit plugin in GarageBand, Cubasis, AUM, AudioBus, etc., but it can also be used for finger drumming, or with an external MIDI controller.

The thing people keep getting really excited about is the sample browser, which lets you browse and preview samples without importing them into the app.

It looks like BeatHawk has most of the features of Sitala, but in a more complex package. My (obviously biased) opinion is that Sitala's a bit more streamlined, and has better visual feedback. BeatHawk also contains a sequencer, which Sitala doesn't. One of the unique things about Sitala is that it allows for browsing full directories of samples without importing them to Sitala -- Sitala just uses them in place wherever they're stored.

For me it is worth it; quite intuitive. I bought desktop and iOS versions. ios version is worth having to experiment with and could be useful if screen mirroring or exporting it for use inside or outside of the ipad ecosystem.
