10 hours to record in February 2010. The 2012 Edit/Remix/Master took about 9 hours. The only synth used on here was Rez v2.0. EnergyXT Drum sampler was used for all percussion. Considering that Rez v2.0 is monophonic, I think the resulting sound is fairly dense.

Edit: 20130211 remix: EQ updates, relevelling, added FerricTDS to the master bus and mastered with tweaked T-Racks3 chain - took 4 hours

Not bad for a single synth and some drums! (Well, there are a good few instances of the synth I reckon, but anyway.) Nice progression through the tune as well.
Rez rings a bell, and look, a new version (well, new to me). I'll have to get that one, you've got some nice sounds going here for sure.

Yes. I had 10 instances of Rez in there, and 4 drum kits. I downloaded the new version of Rez 2 or 3 months ago, but I just haven't had time to do anything with it yet.Programentalist wrote:Not bad for a single synth and some drums! Thanks very much for listening. I hope you enjoyed it.

I like that.
I imagine that's what Yello would do were they to create a little piece of music for a confusing chase scene through Prague

Cheers mate. That's the second Yello reference in 24 hours. Swiss bank account, here I cometehlord wrote:I like that.

neat electro stuff with some cool changes and great dynamics. for me it misses something to grab onto, maybe a lead instrument or something in places just to give it an identity that its an actual song. I happen to have one of my synths on while listening and a simple line over top seem to change the scope of it immediately.

I know what you mean. I have only put leads on less than 20% of my tracks so far. I tend to treat these more as soundscapes with an underlying beat and focus on building up layers of sound. I hope to improve on this ratio over the next 6 months or so.wavephonic wrote:neat electro stuff with some cool changes and great dynamics. for me it misses something to grab onto, maybe a lead instrument or something in places just to give it an identity that its an actual song. Nice range of sounds you're squeezing out of Rez and the track is a pretty dazzling rhythm-scape. Quite enjoyed this Tim!

Thanks for listening and commenting Matt. Glad you enjoyed this. I put the basic track together a couple of years ago, but when I came back to it last week, it had lost its sheen, so I reworked it, adding a few extra instruments until I felt I had achieved that cyclic reinforcement thing, if you know what I mean.polyslax wrote:Nice range of sounds you're squeezing out of Rez and the track is a pretty dazzling rhythm-scape. excellent tune Tim! i get a feeling of been ferried around a neon lit dystopian future city in a hover taxi on my way to another dive bar to score some spice.
some great sounds in there too - i particularly liked the bass.

Hey Neil, thanks for checking in. Glad you liked it. Sounds like the nightlife in your part of the world is really jumping. I was up on the Broads about 3 years ago. Pottering around on boats is a great way of relaxing.
Check out Mısır Çarşısı in Istanbul if you ever go there. We used to shop there regularly. I never saw a hover taxi
