A good solution could be this live Linux audio dvd, you just boot from it rather than install and its all set up (more or less):

Too many things not really needed in KXstudio , the best distro i found is Linuxlite 4.8 and i what about the boot time of the live CD , in that case better put it on a usb flash drive
