PBS were most definitely a synth pop group who utilised all the modern tech of the time using high end digital synths, samplers, sound modules and drum machines to create a more sophisticated and professional sound than their contemporaries. That's why they were a massive success along with good songwriting during their 'imperial period' from 1985 to 1988.
