Heya,
My mate Johan keeps telling me my synth I have built,
Entrancer, is too complicated.
He invited me to work on a project of his,
and I was surprised by how cpu light it was.
The layout, both UI and the internal architecture inspired me to do a mod.
Here is the beta, which will remain free, I want to provide free, no-hassle, quality tools to the community->
https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/vdzh8p

edit-^here is the new link to the ver. with 16 presets
edit2- now the latest UI mods have been compiled
edit3- I have pulled the Virus forms, and adjusted the presets back
edit4-2 new mod sources and one destination
edit5-very much needed cpu fix
edit6- more fixes, inc. cpu, some slight changes
edit7- fixed preset naming mistake in filter
edfit8-LFOs 2&3 now routed correctly
edit 9/2016--fixed polyphonic delay problem causing pops all the time,
---also now fixed saving and loading of presets as text
also included the Flowstone source
edit10--July/2018, no longer including source, but with x64 version
This is still beta and will be much improved, including some new custom forms.
Here are IDF Power's UI requests->
(the draw LFO is fixed in this upload)
{both .dlls are in the one download above}
UI->

No presets yet, do you want to help make a default bank?
I think it is reasonably complete, with no broken functions, complete recall &
ordered automation params.
I'm taking feature requests.
There are 60 waveforms from Virus C in the osc.
Also analog basic ones from Cheetah MS6,
even the sine sounds slightly different funnily enough.
The filters are all standard types in 2 flavours-
and also a custom devil fish type 3-pole.
I think it likes to sound choppily digital/decimated-
it will be fine for full regular forms though.
Also it is for a tweaker, it has a broad palette,
and will reward you with unheard tones.
This means it can sound truly awful,
however it can sound cool to the same sort of scale vice-versa.
Let me know what you think,
hope it butters ur crumpet! 8D

I hope the biohazard sign is just a temporary watermark until the synth is finished...'cause otherwise it looks really bad. Please get rid of it :) Also there's something wrong with the preset window graphics - at the top it looks like the screen is dipped, while at the bottom it's the other way round (it looks a bit like those visual illusions, heh).

OK mate, I will change the panel a bit some time in a skin.
I took away the overlay in this compile->
edit- u can get this in the first post
That is the only difference-
hope you can use it like that.

The sign is my logo, not bio-hazard.
I'm happy with the overlay, and will continue to use it in the skin.

Thanks for your perception.

I thought I would mention some innovative features-
there are 3 pw modes, the 3rd one is kinda interesting.
I took the signal, created bools/pulses on 0 crossings,
and allowed a figure in samples for the width,
then multiplied this with the osc stream to chop lengths.
I counted pulses and skipped them,
allowing pitch shift 3 octaves down.
So pulse width is fixed no matter what the pitch,
however the new cycle will end the offset before the width is over,
if you use a long width.
This way it does things like turn sines into curved saws.
Anyway- u can play with the pw modes and maybe find some unique timbres.
The symmetrical soft saturation is the first time it has been released.
My mate designed it and did a port from Reaktor.
The slew limiter was built by Bootsy, and works great.
What it does is turn a pulse into a triangle in case you didn't know that.
The noise gen is created by using phase or freq mod,
it's available as mod source.
The form draw is just trick as- courtesy of Om.

Cheers 8D

Thanks Nick,
I am getting some cool sounds from Attack Phenomen.
Still only scratching the surface but so far so good.

Test Environment: Win7 Ableton Live 32 bit.

It's interesting, can't say much without presets.

Nice Kurodo,
hope it's a keeper.

OK RunBeer, I'll write some leads with MIDI guitar today.

I made some presets,
so now there r starting points.
There are leads and sequences,
get it all in the first post.

Hope ur amped on amplitude!

edit-did u want the schematic RB?

Post

Cool, I'll give it a listen, I wouldn't bother with the schematic-FS is not currently installed, I do have 2 versions of demos that haven't been installed, but of course they give you only 7 days times with it.

np-
sorry man-you'll need to d/l again if you want the draw osc to recall properly-
slight glitch there is now fixed

Usually presets serve 2 basic functions 1) To show off the plugins features/capabilities, 2) starting points for sound design. Sorry to say the presets serve to alienate me from using your synth. Your skills in GUI design are impressive. Maybe you should let someone else design the synth or at least the presets, and stick to your forte.

{edit-thanks for trying it and I will take your opinion into consideration,
i'll try and find a designer}
sorry man,
these are the kind of sounds I like.
I imagine all the presets I write will not be popular.
If your looking for something glitchy, noisy, dirty and weird-
maybe I can preset design.
If you are looking for generic,beautiful,old-school synth sounds,
someone else will have to do it.
You can hear my music at SoundCloud,
the techniques I use there are what I have learned to implement.

What flavour would have been pleasing to you?

I have fulfilled both points as I would,
you summed it up well, that's what I tried to do.

edit-Thanks for the credit on the UI,
edit-(sorry bit narky of me) it's kinda simple, I will pass on the compliment to Johan,
he did it really, I just modded it to taste. I think it's ok, just functional really.
I'll let you know when I have finished with so ps tricks if interested.
This is the kind of track I will be using this synth for:-

Here I have quickly sequenced 7 of the presets.
It was using about 30% of the dsp.

I understand now...this synth follows the trend of genre specific plugins. I am not interested in generic "glitchy, noisy, dirty, or weird sounds". Yes I prefer beautiful. It should not be overlooked that 90% of synths are emulations of, or inspired by "old school synths".

Yeah I'll be keeping it for sure. :)
I notice in your opening post you mentioned feature requests.

Two that I think would make Attack Phenomen really cool:
Basic Reverb and Ping Pong Delay.
Both would really enhance preset creation, at the moment I am using Vallhalla Verb and Abletons inbuilt Ping Pong in conjunction with any presets I make.
I realize those two features may prove too complicated or too much hassle.
Anyway keep up the good work.

The GUI looks great, but can you remove the green stuff around the knobs. It would make it look a lot cleaner.
