Background pad definitelly needs more variety and modulation. You could also duplicate it and play the pad with different settings, preset or different synth altogether, then mix between these.

Otherwise it's good to go, nothing is obviosuly wrong.

it would be an OK start to a 12 minute piece, but needs more going on as it is. You could transpose the voice up as it goes after a few iterations. I agree with DJ WArmonger, layer/modulate the pad. A jittery staccato part doing a crescendo (build) would help too.

I've been working on this and added some elements.

I've added some but not much modulation into it, but also added a few elements, I'm not sure about the stattaco type build - more modulation to arrive soon.
