Agreed  I looked to see if there was another thread here first and didn't see one and just didn't care what was being posted in the other Spectrasonics thread. :P

Waiting 3 months for this is going to be tough.

1) Reverse samples.

2) Pitched stalactites.
That and the wavetables. Actually, who am I kidding, it's everything. I'm too excited for this. Holy crap. I need to take a vacation for 3 months and get my mind on something else or my head is going to explode thinking about everything we now have with Omni 2. :help:

I'm seriously tempted to sell all of my other synths just to get this, this can do everything (at least everything I'm looking for)!

Except for the part where it's not. It has a pretty capable synth engine built right in that can run in either or both layers.

Probably not 'all' my other synths, but a significant amount of them.
(TBH, I was getting ready to sell them anyway, this just gives a possibility of where the funds from those sales go). :hihi:

Yeah, most romplers did that.

I only have 4 non-NFR ones (DIVA, Alchemy, Bazille, Serum)

Anybody have a link to minimum specs yet?

Post

So Omnisphere will be able to do some of what Alchemy has been able to do for a while.

Clearly the Camels were so worried about the threat to Alchemy that they just threw in the towel.... ;)

I'm still holding on to Alchemy, and maybe Diva, but there are a few others I decided in the last few days to send on their way - (including two hardware modules - 1 synth, 1 rompler).

Is it just me, or does the ability to import audio mean that the amount of 3rd party products aimed at Omnisphere is going to grow exponentially?

This is update is beautiful on so many levels!!

I just hope the implementation of granular/wavetable/unison is up to the same Spectrasonics quality - not that there's ANY reason to doubt that it *will* be!

I am kinda torn on whether to hold onto Alchemy at this point with the announcement. Really the main reason for keeping it now is its additive and spectral engines because Omni 2 still doesn't offer either of those as far as we know.

IMBW, But it seems the video blurb at least implied additive?

Sounds like camel to me.

Are you sure ? I didn't see anything implying it. :?

Audio import!! The video only showed importing a long piece of audio for using with the granular engine. Can you also import multi-samples? wavetables?

Spectrasonics may have finally sold me on Omnisphere with audio import... good timing with the loss of Alchemy.
