Greetings,
https://soundcloud.com/davephillips69/3 ... -kvr-osc90
Made with many instances of the Helm VST plugin (and nothing else) in Bitwig 1.3.12 for Linux.
First-time entry here, am I doing this right ?
Best,

Nice to meet another Linux user over here.
Just to make sure; "nothing else" means no effects from bitwig or any other 3rd party?
Cool track btw, nice textures.

Hi Rob ! I saw your note about OSC90 over on Linux Musicians, decided I'd give it a whirl.
Nothing but Helm on that track.Just to make sure; "nothing else" means no effects from bitwig or any other 3rd party?
Thanks, the sounds are some of the presets in what I hope are interesting layers.Cool track btw, nice textures.

Track name should be [kvrname] - [trackname]

So I updated helm. i think that my problems with its unison are fixed, but I can't use even 3 instances with animations turned off without it being a massive strain on my PC. Soooo definitely sitting out.
It's very tasty, I swear!

I guess I have to skip this round. Don't get it installed on my system. Schedule of the month is full of other things too. Have fun.

Let me tell about an issue wich I have with Helm (ver 0.8.6) in Cubase (64 bit):
When I'm playing a sound in the first instance, everything sounds fine.
But when I create the second instument track and activate it, the first one sounds distorted! The same happens with the second track, when I switch back to the first track. But now the first track sounds clean again ...
I tried to make a drumloop with kick, snare and hihat: If all tracks are activated, everything is okay, but when I want add a fourth instrument, the drums sound crappy
Anybody with the same problem?

I'm also using Cubase (8.5) on (Windows) 64bit and Helm 0.8.6 - and luckily I don't encounter the problem you describe.rockingricky wrote:Let me tell about an issue wich I have with Helm (ver 0.8.6) in Cubase (64 bit):

Whenever I add and/or switch tracks, everything else stays (and sounds) as before.
My Environment: Windows 64bit, Cubase 8.5

Arrrgh, I've got not so busy month to participate in compo, but Helm is incredibly unstable for me (Windows 10, Reaper X64).
Every second project opening leads to crash.
Modulation params does not save.
Freeze leads to crash.
Such a pity for me that I must skip this month.

Guys and girls,
I urge you to report crashes to github https://github.com/mtytel/helm/issues or send an email to matthewtytel@gmail.com.
Give as much detail as you can.
Developer can't fix crashes/bugs he's not aware of.

I don't think reporting a crashes, Helm not showing up in a DAW, are complaint, It's just a fact, that needs to be fixed.
What's the use of making software people can't use ?
Things about sound quality, are subjective, a matter of taste I guess. These are hard to 'fix'.
