Hello to all,
I need a oscilloscope plugin for mac that is good enough like the s(M)exoscope from smartelextronix?
Or maybe somebody knows a way how to make it working on my Cubase 8.5 the s(M)exoscope because i tried everything but it just doesn't show in my vst plugins.
Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks!!!!

Hi
The Vengeance Sound / Keilworth audio "Scope CM" freebie from Computer Music Mag is excellent and has replaced S(M)exoscope for me here on mac for 32 and 64 bit.
Cheers

I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored...

The lower timegraph shows the input level or waveform or both.

I would definitely recommend "VPS Scope": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQzolj5gtOg

The "scope" mode looks more like an animated yet still rather static waveform display in an audio editor, and this one has no playhead position indicator, nor does it scroll on playback nearly as smoothly as most actual audio editors I've used. The animation/motion options don't really seem to connect what you hear with what you see. Maybe the demonstrator sucked, but I found the demo really unimpressive in that mode. For me, I need there to be a really tight link between what I'm seeing and hearing if I'm going to use such a tool.Squidsneeze wrote:I would definitely recommend "VPS Scope": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQzolj5gtOg

This is not true The "Scope" mode offers 6 different sync modes (1 flowing & 5 retriggering):Jace-BeOS wrote:The "scope" mode looks more like an animated yet still rather static waveform display in an audio editor, and this one has no playhead position indicator, nor does it scroll on playback nearly as smoothly as most actual audio editors I've used.
- free (which is a normal smoothin scrolling waveform and you can set a visible time between 10ms & 30s)
- transient (which retriggers the waveform everytime a transient got detected)
- beat time (retiggers the waveform between 1/32 & 8bars)
- pitch (synchronizes to waveform retriggering to a note value like C3)
- frequency (similar to pitch but with a frequency value)
- time (retriggers the waveform after a specific time)
The retriggering ones help to focus your eyes because the visible time can be very small e.g. in pitch mode. A flowing waveform doesn't make sense with them since it would scroll to fast.
Also VPS Scope is able to mark transients, male 'ess' & female 'ess' in the audio stream.
I didn't watch the video again, since I already use this plugin in every project. But I'd say it was the demonstrators fault

You have to buy CM issue 216 for 4.99 apparently. Then you can register
and download it from CM. Haven't tried it myself...

Yes, it is on the CM DVD. But if you already own a Vengeance Sound product, you can download it for free here: http://vengeance-sound.com/freebies.php.

Thank you all for the replies ... I think i would also go for the Vengeance one because i am long time user of their plugins so i know i can't go wrong with them.
