Managed to get this track finished over the weekend, didn't think I would get to finish this one with the way this past weeks been. When the solar winds hit the earths atmosphere we are treated to a fantastic free light show.

its a well composed track, but you have squashed almost all the dynamic range out of it. You wouldn't happen to be using that sausage fattener thing on every part? i visited your website, looks like you got lots of top notch hardware and plugins. all well and good.
but what good is it if your music sounds like a windows wavetable software synth playing a midi track full blast.
i would concentrate less on acquiring the "best" gear and more on mixing and mastering if i were you.
sorry man, just got to be straight and honest with my opinion because i hear you making the same
mistake time and time again on the tracks you post.

Thank you for your candour, I appreciate it. I am slightly puzzled as the only compression I have is on the master bus and the needle/meter is only tickled. I will go back and have a look at the mix again however.

its mostly the drums that sound over cooked. (squashed) but the lead also sounds like it is trying too hard. like at the beginning, it could come in more subtle. just trying to help u polish it up, as i said thebiodiode wrote:Thank you for your candour, I appreciate it. It sounds like a good EDM tune.
To me it becomes sort of sonically tiring to the ear although it does have changes. But It's not a genre I listen to so just a few cents worth here.
