Getting missing samples trying to import the 50 combis.
any ideas ?

Those Combis are for probably Miroslav Philharmonik 1 - did you Import its library into ST3? The ST3-compatible MP2 library is bigger and different.
Which 50 Combis are those? The free ones, dated 2005?

PS Combis from MP1, ST2.5, SS2 etc does not import 100% successfully into ST3.

yeh into ST3, old but thought i would try as ST3 is supposed to import legacy Miro1.
to be honest right now I am having more of a pain getting MP2 to load all instruments without chucking up missing file errors so I will deal with this 1st.
why IK cant sort out their installers is beyond me

Yes it does Import the Combis, but to use them you will need to Import the MP1 instruments first.

OT but any idea if the sound updaters are needed with MP2 as the dates are before the current release.

MP2 sounds updaters? - these may well be needed. I think that:
(a) the MP2 main library downloads are still the original MP2 files. Check the 'Dates Modified'.
(b) the current MP2 software release is only the software.
