How/When should I use Harmonic Maximizer?

Hi Audiority,

I won the bundle at KVR Charity years ago.
I've been using some of the plugins from time to time and quite satisfied
Thanks again for the contribution.

I'm feeling Harmonic Maximizer is pretty difficult to use.
I read manual and (I hope) I understood how the knobs affect to the sound.
But it's still hard for me to decide how and when to use it.
Do you have any efficient usage suggestion?

I also want to know the advantage and disadvantage when you compare to the Waves Vitamin (except price).
I bet other people also want to know the difference, at least some of my friends do.

Hi Yudaidhun,

in my case, I used this maximizer a lot during some sound design. It helped me restoring some lost harmonic content due to extensive down pitching of the original signal. I also used it for some mastering works I've done for some clients: adding a bit of harmonics on the low end, a bit on the high and pushing just the right amount (that's basically how the "Mix Finalized" preset has been done).

These are just a couple of examples, but this plugin can be used any time you need to add some color and loudness to any track.
