Sounds like a mixture of funk, the Peter Gunn theme, and T-Rex's "Bang a Gong (Get It On)." Surprising and fun! :)

At times, the drums and bass sound out of sync. The mix is a bit messy.

Thanks for the comments Frantz.

I just went with the flow on this one.

Yeah, I started with a rhythm patch which looks to be out of sync a little so I need to line up the beats better. I've already found a track that was playing the wrong sounds in one place. I'll try to whip into shape.

groovy! it has a very "live" feel to it. *the loose timing*
i enjoyed the varied instrumentation.

I think this revision is a little cleaner.

Sounds very 60s, so looking listening to this in that context, the only criticsm I would make is that there is a little bit too much reverb on the "sax" - it sounds as though the sax player has been banished from the studio and is playing from next door!

In the Good Old Days, timing (and tuning!) was often awry, even in the best of bands. There were also a lot of tempo changes - listen to All Right Now by Free, they really speed up during the guitar solo, then slow right back down for the final choruses.

From a 2018 perspective, of course it's a rubbish mix! But I think it's a mistake to approach this track with 2018 aesthetics.

I would've liked to hear a key change - cliched but can be effective.

Cool! Nice song with versatile parts.
The tune and ambiance gave an imagine like the theme of an sixties agent TV series
An agreeable soundtrack.

Thanks for the comments Googly Smythe. I'm glad you enjoyed the listen.

I know the sax is way back there but that's the baked in nature of Ebertone's crazy Sensual Sax with it's "Sex Controller". :D

I borrowed from a few R&B/Rock tunes of that time period for sure.

Thanks markkuja!

The bass does give it a Peter Gun theme feel that probably influenced that genre.

Rev2 is an improvement, the band sobered up

The bass and drums synchronization is improved in Rev 2.

Rev 2 still sounds very lo-fi like playing an old cassette tape.

You could add "Gimme Some Lovin'" to that list :)

..banished to the hallway in Headley Grange.

this has certainly got a late '60s vibe, and that middle section sounds like it could be straight out of an early '70s Hammer horror ritual sacrifice scene.

Good work :)
