7th track from my upcoming CD "The Facebook Chronicles Vol 2"
Guy asked for an afro beat on this one. Did the best I could.
TAKE YOU THERE By Heion Wray
INTRO: ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
V1: As it happens girl you got it going on
Lost for words right now this feeling is so strong
I'm so blown away like I ain't never been
Most mesmerising girl that I have ever seen
Your body's calling me
I'm all in babie
CH: Coz you got whatever it takes
A lesser man would break
But I rise to the challenge
And make no mistake
Maybe i'll start off up here
And then end up elsewhere
Ecstasy x rated I'm gonna take you there
MELODIC BREAK: ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
V2: Respect to you babe you're so meticulous
Anything it takes I'm willing to adjust
I gotta have you oh how u would rock my world
I don't care what it takes money diamonds even pearls
You are so hot
I need the whole lot
Repeat Chorus
BRIDGE:
Jist to break the ice I wanna sacrifice
Love may be a gamble Go on and roll the dice
You make a player wanna go straight
I hope you can relate
There's so much about you
I appreciate
AD LIB: Your body's calling me I'm all in babie, You are so hot I need the whole lot
Repeat Chorus

8th track from my upcoming CD "The Facebook Chronicles Vol 2"
Only 2 more to go and I'm finished with this project.
I'M WHAT I AM By Heion Wray
CHORUS:
I'm what I am I'm who I am
Take me or leave me do you hear me man
I'm what I am I'm who I am
Nothing but love for ya do you feel me fam
V1:
I may not have much but I'm willing to share
Coz I got love for ya if you treat me fair
Your colour or language is not a big deal
No more tribal war let's show respect for real
Give it time and you're gonna see
1st impression can be hasty
Love and harmony's what I'm about
We can work it out
Repeat Chorus
V2:
Be you rich or poor come on so what?
As long as we know love is what we got
What's yours is yours and what's mine is mine
We're there for each other which suits me just fine
Grudge no one do your own thing
Humbly wait for your blessing
Wish me well I wish you all the best
Mutual respect
Repeat Chorus
Bridge:
I'm what I am show me some respect
It's mutual as we all expect
I'm what I am oh oh oh oh
The future gonna be bright
If we treat each other right
Repeat Chorus To Fade

9th track from my upcoming CD "The Facebook Chronicles Vol 2"
Lyrics by Kev Hackney
Gone but not forgotten by Kev Hackney
You knew that you were leaving
I guess we felt it too
All the time we thought we had
And now that time is through
I couldnt hold your hand my love
Or kiss you as you passed
But the love you gave me in my life
Will never be surpassed
Now you're gone but not forgotten
And I'm alone on this dusty road
Now youve joined the angels
As you reached your new abode
You're gone but not forgotten
Your memory helps me carry this heavy load
Though the room seemed empty
We stood there by your side
Our breath was cool upon your cheek
Our hearts were full of pride
So farewell to you darling
I will keep your love inside
You will never be alone
With our shadows by your side
Repeat Chorus
Someday I know that we shall meet again
Even though I do not know just when
Repeat Chorus

Cool hook in Gone But Not Forgotten! 1:13 Quite an original guitar riff - made all the more impactful by the silence preceding it. I'd have reintroduced a slight variation towards the end and played the track out with it.
I have a quick mix of a new track on the forum if you fancy offering feedback (no worries if not). Prog-flamenco...death metal

10th and final track from my upcoming CD "The Facebook Chronicles Vol 2"
Sadly, my voice doesn't do justice to this really great show tune. This one really needs a singer. Musically, might be one of the best things I've ever done.
10th track from my upcoming CD "The Facebook Chronicles Vol 2"
The Door Is Open Lyrics By Connie McCain
(Verse 1)
Tell me here and now
Are you my ride or die?
Are we sailing this ship together
Or do I leave you behind?
(Verse 2)
Just know I've never been blind
I've seen all your cheating ways
Don't know why I still stay
Even after all the pain
(Chorus)
The door is open
I'm giving you a choice
Are you going to stay
Or will you run away?
The door is open
I'm tired of being played a fool
You've gotta decide
Are you going to love or leave me?
(Verse 3)
Don't know why I'm going through all this trouble
When I can simply leave you
Maybe I don't love myself enough to set me free
Maybe you'll do it for me
(Chorus)
Bridge
So make up your mind
If you don't it's unkind
Then I'm sure you will find me gone
Repeat Chorus
(Outro)
The door is open×3
Are you going to love or leave me?

wagtunes,
Now reviewing 'Take You There'. I like that Wurlitzer/Fender Rhodes electric piano a lot: the sound & the riffs. All melodies are well done per usual. Vocals sound good too. Everything instrumentally sounds nice also. Nice song and recording!

Really nice songwriting that. Don't think the drums actually add much mind - ditch them! Less is more for something like this.wagtunes wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 1:51 am 10th and final track from my upcoming CD "The Facebook Chronicles Vol 2"

I was actually thinking of doing orchestral percussion on this one. Was also unsure of drums. You're probably right. But I think it needs something on the bottom. This one was a bitch to orchestrate. I'm not used to working this hard. LOLdonkey tugger wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 9:49 amReally nice songwriting that. Don't think the drums actually add much mind - ditch them! That would sound good. Or perhaps some suitably restrained brushes kit? Something like the NI Abbey Road Vintage kit with the brushes setting would sound nice.
Worth putting the effort in.

wagtunes,
Thank you for the reviews! Now listening to "The Door is Open": so you wrote everything but the lyrics? Very nice melodies everywhere! I honestly think your vocals work well in the song, makes it sound heartfelt. I think the song is ready for Broadway! Instrumentally, everything sounds very good too. I like the drums!

Thanks Aaron. Believe it or not, those lyrics were written by a 14 year old boy. I think he has a future in this business.aaron aardvark wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 6:14 am wagtunes,
