Just having fun with a basic multi-timberal orchestral setup patch i created in Kontakt5.

Below is a picture of the setup in Ableton.

I based the mix layout in Kontakt off this chart.

It's a great setup so far, barely uses any CPU which is nice.

ValhallaVintageVerb and The Glue were used on the Kontakt Group.

Satin was used on the Master.

Like the atmosphere a lot. Foreboding for sure.

Well done! This would work quite well as a soundtrack... Lord of the Rings style.

Nice, great tune.

Just me or is a bit mid rangy, lacking in the bottom and top end.

An interesting and pretty soundtrack type of piece. It does evoke an image of the title.

I guess it’s best to use the standard orchestral placement as that’s what listeners are accustomed to and it works well for balance. I have heard mixes by serial composers where they get pretty creative with instrument placement. But that’s a really different approach to composing.

You used Valhalla well. It sounds pretty natural with not too much verb which can create sonic artifacts. I also use Valhalla but I usually use EW Spaces for orchestral Instruments just out of habit I guess.

I like it, its good. But this comment is correct, - it needs more low end.

Nice, Just a bit more reverb on some strings and a bit more bottom end.

Like others have said it evokes a darkened path nicely. Some rumbling bass would be good and beef up the brass. Otherwise very cool. Nice lead lines.
Well done!

Cool composition and you have the instruments placed nicely, just where the listener expects them to be. Does need some deep cellos in there to beef up the bottom.
