That are good news for me and could make an impact of my maybe first hardware buy as well.
Omnisphere bloat and bla bla my ass but it´s one of the very best performance synths ever created and that makes it even better here.

No doubt. Maybe get some proper MIDI controller support FIRST before hooking up my sub 37
Echoes in the Attic wrote:I'd like to know if this hardware profile thing could be used for midi controllers. What if we use a Novation SL or something. Seems like it would be nice to set up a profile for that. I mean wouldn't more people want a good hardware set up from a midi controller rather than an analog synth? And can users set up their own? Or is that like user samples, we have to wait for the next major version?
The main thing I've wanted is for the waveforms to be selectable from hardware, which would mean making the arrows or the whole list of wavetables automatable for most controller systems.

None yet on the youtube..woodsdenis wrote:Eric is in Berlin for Superbooth, maybe expect a demo later.
But i am wayting for it
My best bet is that they will add more compatible synths over time..
Like the korg prologue, and the new prophet x and hopefully the Nord stage..
I think it is much more integration then the usuall midi learn way...
With some automapping..

That´s just pushing forward a missing part of the whole in a very great way!
That is what i call innovative and someone had to start it.....

It does give rise to a funny scenario i.e people wanting to buy specific hardware synths for the level of Omnisphere control they offer.

Looks great but of course the big question is whether these profiles can be used with generic midi controllers in some kind of emulation mode. So supposing we could set up the midi control messages to be sent from a novation remote controller to send whatever signals the sub 37 sends, then we should be able to use that profile with it right? I think if that's the cae, then it's even more powerful and useful, because again how many people have tons of hardware synths lying around compared to how many people have midi controllers? Having a voyager or sub 37 layout or sh-101 layout on something like a Novation SL which then controls that Omnisphere profile would be amazing, because then you are getting a different range of sounds from each profile but from the same controller keyboard in a different mode. That would be where it's at.
So hopefully it's just a matter of figuring out what midi messages each of these hardware synths sends and then mimicking that on a midi controller and selecting the appropriate hardware profile? That would rock.

Me too! Exactly what I’ve been waiting for for years! Hopefully it will support my aging V-Synth (wishful thinking I know).Cinebient wrote:O.k. just my worthless opinion but THIS IS THE NEXT BIG THING for me.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaLDetoDYXQ

Using MIDI controllers for mimicking hardware synths used as midi controllers for a software synths.
Honestly while I personally don't find that appealing the idea is novel and could provide some good hands on experience for Omnisphere, which it needs quite a bit.
Nevertheless I als thing Omnisphere is one synth that is kind of detrimental to map to a controller since it has just so much stuff.

BTW, it is funny how things have come around from "MIDI controllers automapping to software synths" to "Software synths auto mapping to hardware synths"

Haven't watched the video yet but I welcome improvements in this area, I agree with Eric when he says the real problem in this day and age is in the direct tactile response of plugins.
It's an interesting approach - instead of bending the controller to the plugin, bend the synth to the controller. I'm not sure how good this will be, and it's obviously not a good general approach to controlling all your plugins, but for sure an interesting experiment and obviously Eric & team have thought it works well enough to be worth adding.
Actually, I'd really like Spectrasonics to do a good general purpose synth controller, or at least be involved in the design phase, as I like their more musical approach to software than the more techy "I want access to every one of the 800,000 parameters in my soft synth of choice" brigade...

Eric said that they'll keep adding profiles "till the cows come home", so I guess it just depends how long your cow wants to keep playing outsideperpetual3 wrote:Me too!
