After a few years of deliberating, I finally took the plunge in January and built a Midibox Seq v4.
It was my first project like this in around 35 years. It took around 20 hours (took it nice and slow enjoying the build). It cost somewhere around £350.
In the third post, I will add links etc that I found useful in case anyone else wants to give it a go.
Mine was the basic version with 4 midi in and outs.

Well done! Thanks for sharing.
It's great that you include links to resources. I really appreciate that. For many DIY projects there isn't a comprehensive list of the things you need or instructions are in several different places... it's nice to have a compiled list from someone who has completed a project, of all the things they needed to finish the project.
I'd like to build one of these with OLED displays and a metal enclosure.

The info is a bit scattered but half the fun was working it all out. I thought about OLED's but being my first build in decades, decided to keep things basic. The good thing is I can upgrade at any time. The same for a metal case.
I had one issue with the case I used, it was not very deep and I had to desolder the header pins on the screens and main board and use 90 degree header pins instead. It only just fit even then.
