Just online looking for a couple of fx pedals to feed my Pulse 2 through and was looking at these two in the videos.
Anyone else use these? Recommended? Video demos Iv'e watched so far seem very good.

BOSS RV-6 Reverb

BOSS DD-7 Delay

Only fx pedal I have is the MXR Distortion and I love that one but I'm after some reverb, delay and and filter pedals (not found one yet)

I’ve heard very good things about the Zoom cdr70, which does reverb and delay (and chorus and other things), all in stereo. From the Youtube videos out there, also seems to sound legit.

Why are you asking about those two specifically? Any particular reason or near to purchasing? Of course they are good enough for the job.

Just in case you need more options:

Yep very near to purchasing the two, just wondered if anyone else here was using them. I like that RV-6 Shimmer sound I hear on a few of the online video demos.
Yeah I'm on the Thomann site now then looking at video demos of various pedals.

im right at this second btw, running my modular through an ehx canyon, which is a damn fine pedal, also at a damn reasonable price considering the different engines, the tape delay is lovely, the shimmer is nice too, the sample and hold is great fun on beats, then theres five or six more delay engines.
well worth checking out the demo vids.

Unless you need knob-per-function or something with limited complexity you should take a look at the RV-500 which has reverb and delay in one unit. It will give you more options than either of the standalone pedals for a little more in price.

In a similar vein to the RV-500 there's the GFI Specular Tempus which looks pretty cool (Benn and Gear did a good review of it).

I had a friend's RV-5 here for a while and liked how it sounded. I've been looking into reverb pedals lately (have a DD-3 already) but as I still record into Ableton Live and have about 68,000 reverb and delay plugins I'm not sure it makes sense for me to buy a hardware pedal right now.

So you are asking about the best selling delay and reverb pedals (each in its own category), whether anyone is using them? Yes, I suppose so...

One HQ digital pedal which does it all and more (but only 1 effect at once): Eventide H9

Mix and match individual pedals (analog and digital) can lead to a more unique sonic result.

But be warned! Pedal GAS is time and money consuming.

Questions:
  • What kind of music?
  • How much do you want to spend "initially" for your new hobby?

Don't get limited pedals. Get a multi-fx engine.
15 years ago I bought an Art DMV-Pro with dual-stereo engine (or even 4 mono or 2 mono fx in sseries with one stereo)
It has midi, so will follow your program changes. More than just reverb & delay, too much to chose from.

Look further, boy, sweetest toys are in the back of the shop.

I like some of the old 90's multi fx units from boss. Meant for guitars but....alesis stuff is fun too.

You can usually pick them up pretty cheap.

I have the Zoom MS-50G and think it is excellent. IIRC, with the latest firmware update, it has even more effects than the CDR-70, and is usually about $20 less in cost. The 50G has emulations of many boutique pedals, including several by Strymon, Eventide, etc., plus it has (naturally) many distortions. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong.

Check out the model listing here: https://www.zoom-na.com/sites/default/f ... ist_v3.pdf
