If Fluffmeister is me, well, I think it sounds very nice, analog (by which I mean old-skool, typical of late 70's and early 80's sound) enough for my needs. I am sure there are synths that sound better in absolute terms, but despite my new Ryzen computer, I still keep an eye on CPU efficiency. So, what's the point in using a plugin that sounds like 1.25 times as good, but uses 5 to 10x as much CPU? I couldn't use a dozen instances of such a plugin on my 4-core computer.

:hihi: :hihi: Heh, heh, well ya see fluffmeister, it boils down to a balance between sound and computer power...oh but doesn't it?

Has it not always? Well, maybe since the advent of digital audio? 8) 8)

alan freeman is a man.
he was a rock dj in the uk, had a voice as recognisable as sunlight is, except gravelly.
he did the rock show on a sat night on radio one iirc.
he was known as alan "fluff" freeman. i cannot say why, he just was.

As the OP, I had similar doubts myself few years back (there even was a thread for it, like 'is Sylenth still relevant in *add year*'), but then I bought Sylenth and didn't even regret it. Now Sylenth is in most of my projects. And it has a vast amount of presets available for it, if you are not feeling like making sounds from scratch, though it's easy to make patches yourself. So I would still highly recommend getting it.

Yesterday there was some thread on a Moog bass soundset for the Legend, and while I don't really like that particular attack sound in the audio, some people seem to consider it typical of Moog basses. So I tried to emulate it in Sylenth1, and it seems possible :)
