- Windows 7: Fixed a crash on launch due to new plugins scaling options

Post

Just a reminder :)
W9.3.1 on Linux

MasterMix CTD:

Code: Select all

21 Aug 2018 4:58:36 Thread 0:
21 Aug 2018 4:58:36 ** Plugin crashed: Master Mix (TracktionInternal)
21 Aug 2018 4:58:36 0: tracktion_VSTPlugin.cpp:buildParameterList:423
21 Aug 2018 4:58:36 ** Plugin crashed:
21 Aug 2018 4:58:36 1: tracktion_VSTPlugin.cpp:initialiseFully:401
21 Aug 2018 4:58:36 2: tracktion_VSTPlugin.cpp:VSTPlugin:348
Thats after getting the application to start by using LD_PRELOAD:

Code: Select all

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcurl.so.4.5.0 /usr/bin/Waveform9
Whether the two issues are related is IDK!

Cheers,
Gav

Does my LD_PRELOAD kludge work for you?

Do you have curl installed? Have you run "sudo apt-get install curl" from the Terminal?

Unless I'm mistaken, OpenSuse doesn't use Apt/Deb. Rather it used RPM.

Not that I'm an OpenSuse user but I think something more like this:

Code: Select all

sudo zypper in curl
or
sudo /sbin/yast -i curl

Ah, well if you're on OpenSuse I'm not surprised something is a bit wrong. It took me weeks to get it the curl stuff working nicely on both Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04.

However, Waveform 9 does require libcurl to be found and working correctly. On Ubuntu 18.04 I found that it's not enough to simply install "libcurl", you also need "curl" so maybe installing that in the distro-specific way will help.

Does this happen when adding a new instance of Master Mix or is this an existing Edit you're trying to load?
There was a problem with Master Mix which I though I fixed...

I just reinstalled W9.3.1 and created a completely fresh/empty project. Added MM and Boom! So, it happens in both situations.

Ok, I've been able to replicate this now. Strange that it only happens on Linux though...
Will look for a fix asap.

Great! Thanks. I'm happy to help you find issues that arise under Linux. :)

Dragging the A to a plugin is broken, in that the popup option window does not appear for choosing Learn or a specific parameter.

Managed to get one drag onto a volume plug to work, then nothing.

Reverted to 9.2.6 and it worked as it should. Back to 9.3.1 = broken.

Just a thought.. it amazes me how much effort you guys at Tracktion put in to making sure Waveform runs on so many platforms / systems. Very impressive and much appreciated! Keep those updates coming! =D

I 2nd this thought. As a Linux user my choices are limited. There's Renoise but that is lacking modern features and development seems dead and then there's Bitwig, which I find my productivity takes a nosedive in with it's roundabout way of doing things - and you can't even alias clips!

I so appreciate your support of Linux with your awesome DAW!

Ok, both automation "A" dragging and Master Mix Linux should be fixed by this afternoon.
Thanks for the patience!
