There are certainly some interesting ideas in there, especially melodically, but the big issue for me was the sounds...

Too many were much too similar in overall tone and frequency range which meant that they overlapped and blocked each other out in the mix.

Many were also 'large' sounds of the sort that dominate a mix...more than one or two at a time and they compete rather than blend.

Oh, thanks for your comments and suggestions. That's valuable to try to improve this mix.
I started recording guitars for this track with a big wall-of-sound in mind and things got out of hand very quickly :hihi:
When I was mixing I choose to cut a couple of double-tracked guitars, I tried to cut 'crowded' frequencies in the guitar/synth range but I guess that was not enough.
I'm not sure I can improve this track with EQing alone (or multiband Compression, to try to blend those fighting sounds)
Maybe the best solution is to re/record rhythm guitar, and maybe to change it, in order to be less invasive.
I take note. Thanks

Cheers

The mix was kinda "busy", but I got used to it after the first 20 seconds or so. The various guitar parts worked very well although I would have cut the volume of the panned chords by a couple of dB. The synth solos were great. Keep on rockin'.

Good work :)

agree with seismic about a busy mix, perhaps play parts solo more?
also agree that the volumes need some work. it was a rockin ride nontheless, good job :tu:

Hi there, long time no see
I like the lead synth which is common in your style
very heavy guitars are filling all those frequencies...
good drums / bass

Interesting palette of sounds that you have mixed together. Although I had to reach for the volume knob to avoid annoying the neighbours it was nonetheless a rocktastic ride. If you can sort the volume and frequency issues as suggested you have a very nice track on your hands.

Cool sounds. Got used to the wall of sound after a bit...
Like the live feel of it and the awesome guitar...
Nice synth solos.
Well done!
:)
Could do with some mixing though...

Thanks, I'm going to let it rest for a while and get into mixing it properly, later, with 'fresh' ears

Hey Laguna,

what a ride!
The start is strange and immediately.
Then I as the first theme gets in, it came very powerful - liked the slowed rock then.
And the development.

The tonal mix is good for me.

Thanks alot
and, yes - keep on rocking! :)
